It's been a nice couple of days. I'm listening to a lot of classic jazz lately, probably because of the autumn-ish weather that doesn't want to go away. Cloudy weather, Ella Fitzgerald and a cup of hot tea, perfect.

Anecdote of the day, I went to the pharmacy to buy a few things, and the woman there put some samples in the bag, those sort of mini-portions of cosmetics they often give away to customers. I came back home and checked them, and there were three of them. A skin-care product for men, an anti-age cream, and an anticellulite one. I swear, one of these days that woman and I are going to have words.

Better get started on the ironing, there's a pile of sheets in the other room that I've been trying to ignore all day.

News about the new friendspage, courtesy of lj-release. In short, the new layout will be mandatory, there won't be an option to go back to the old one. The good news is, we'll be able to customize the font and background, so I won't have to use a RSS reader, because that layout as it is is a migraine-trigger if there ever was one. I still read comments in the new style by closing one eye, otherwise I react like a vampire in sunlight. Yes, I hiss at my computer.

ANYWAY, the thing is, I stay here on LJ because my friends are here, and because my fandoms are active here. Tumblr is there to look at pretty pictures and to get updates from my favourite writers, but other than that LJ is where fandom is. I have a Dreamwidth account, here, but I only use it as storage. I'll make the jump only when all the communities and friends I follow decide to move over there, because as it is now it feels a lot like talking to myself in an empty room. And they don't have the option to make pretty layouts like the one I have here and the header is paramount!

I find it hilarious that they decided to do this huge unpopular change because all the different styles couldn't support new stuff as the repost option, which I've seen used a grand total of three times since it was created. Wow. Talk about useful stuff.

There's still hope, my friends! \o/

Today I finally gave up and bought a Kindle. Summer is coming, and Tati's moving to a nearby town for her job, and I'm going to visit her every other day, and I need something to help me carry my favourite fanfics with me. Yes, it was meant for e-books, but I'm going to use it mainly for fanfics. I do love AO3 and their download options. ♥

And I forgot to write this in the big ass London post, but I did in fact listen to Cabin Pressure on the plane. On both planes, actually, and the experience was absolutely... brilliant! Mostly because the Captain kept calling the Cabin Crew on the Intercom in the background. :D

Also, new layout and text for the comments! It took me a while to come up with a nice option for that, and I'm so proud of myself. :D

Guess what? It's a new layout! Yay! And nobody saw it coming. Nope. :D

Because this song has been my number one Sherlock song since I first saw the pool scene, and I've had it in my mind all day. Not that that's a bad thing. ;)

Random notes: yesterday Tati and I also went to the cinema to watch Shame. Because we thought we were going to be depressed because of the Reichenbach episode anyway, so it was the perfect day for a depressing movie. And yes, it was depressing. But also beautiful, stunning, and all in all perfect in every aspect.

Then we also watched the Once Upon A Time episode when we came back, because it was about Hansel and Gretel, and we just *love* it when our fandoms collide. :D

I know I should be making lunch now, but Photoshop is already open, I could do a couple of Sherlock icons instead... how can I resist?

Anyone else having problems with LJ? First there was another DDoS attack, and then the flexible squares layout stopped working. I sent a support request, and I noticed many others have the same problem, but it's still annoying. Let's see if they'll fix it, I love this layout and I don't want to change it.

And now, weekly tv shows reviews! First we have ( Once Upon A Time! )

So, we already know from casting news that Belle is white, so guys, would it kill you to bring in a few not-white princesses? That's the only flaw in an otherwise awesome show.

Then, ( The Walking Dead! )

And finally, a little late this week, ( The Vampire Diaries! )

I can't believe I have to wait until January now. This show has the best, most excruciating cliffhangers.

First day at the gym today, first time since last april. Surprisingly, it wasn't as hard as I imagined it to be. Well, I was imagining Alistair's spot in Hell, but still, I'm proud of myself. Let's see if I can survive tomorrow without succumbing to cramps!

Worst part was when they started playing Paparazzi by Lady Gaga, and I was supposed to do a very complicate move with my arms jumping up and down, and all I could think of was this, and I stopped there and giggled and snorted the whole time. The new trainer must think I'm a lunatic now. XD

In other news, my cousin is here! She's staying a couple of weeks, and then she'll start her first year as a university student! I feel so proud and maybe a bit old too, but mostly proud. :D

And last but not least, the spring-ish layout lasted three whole days, because juuhachi_go, who's my own personal goddess, made me this wonderful layout. She's so amazing I have no words. Charles, Erik, amazing photoshop skills and Pink Floyd all in one wonderful package. *_____________*
