This morning I went back to the dentist for the first in a series of surgeries to fix two damaged teeth. Rare pathology, etc. We did two sets of x-rays, four different shots, and the surgery lasted more than an hour and was very uncomfortable, then the doctor said he had to stop, close everything up, and wait a week. If it's all fine next week, we'll go on with the plan. If it's not, he'll have to take the tooth out. Oh joy. Me, I have to avoid hot meals, and survive the whole week on ice cream, cheese, cold and mushy things. Right now the left part of my face is swollen and throbbing, and hurts a lot, even with the painkillers. Tomorrow morning I have to call them, describe how my mouth feels, and then the doctor will tell me if I have to start on the antibiotics. Judging from past experiences, I'll probably have to.
My dinner is chocolate ice cream, and I can't feel half of my face. I've been feeling depressed all day, so after lunch I crawled under the blankets, turned my laptop on, and watched Disney movies until I fell asleep. Today sucks.

Date: 2014-02-13 08:54 pm (UTC)I first watched Emperor's New Groove on my first archaeological dig back in 2003. I was stuck in the lab for two weeks, brushing bones and pottery with a toothbrush and cataloguing everything. Most boring task ever. A friend of mine had a laptop, and she had Emperor's New Groove and Legally Blonde downloaded on a cd. We watched those two movies every day all day while brushing human bones, it was awesome. Also insane. :D
