Woke up at 5 this morning, and did my second-to-last medical exam this year at the hospital. Lung x-rays, nothing there, as usual. The big news is my aunt, doctor and I talked a lot yesterday, and we decided to change my oncologist after the next check-up in December. It's been long coming, and I definitely had to do it. I already have contact numbers and everything, I just have to tell my therapist next.
It was weird coming back from the hospital at 8 am. Everyone else on that bus was starting their day, and I was sitting there thinking "thank god it's over, it's over, yes yes yes." I hate x-rays so much, because they remind me of radiotherapy. Hate them with a burning fury.
Anyway, let's move to more pleasant topics, this new season of Supernatural is awesome. After the sixth and seven season, which had great specific episodes (like Death's Door), but a boring main storyline, the return of Jeremy Carver set the story back where it belonged, and they're already starting to tie loose ends from the fifth season. I never stopped liking Supernatural, but this season I'm back to loving it with mad passion! So happy!
(It was also incredibly creepy because when I woke up this morning I had We Gotta Get Out Of This Place playing in my head, and then they used it in the opening of the episode, what are the chances? This is witchcraft!)
I have some news about Skyfall, they uploaded the opening credits, without the actual credits, here. I'm so excited about this, since those are among my favourite opening credits of all time, hands down.
Speaking of which, there's this great website that lets you take a fake but incredibly realistic MI6 exam to work as a handler for their agents. You have to guide your agent through six simulations, telling him/her how to get out of dangerous situation, enemy traps, terrorist lairs, and so on. So far I'm doing great, I'm halfway through the fourth one, and apparently I'm "ruthless but motivate". Good to know. :D

Date: 2012-11-15 02:43 pm (UTC)It was, sort of. I still have blood tests, that shouldn't be a problem, except for the fact that sometimes my blood pressure gets VERY low, and I happen to faint after a couple of vials of blood, so annoying. This time around my aunt is coming with me, so at least if it happens I'll have a familiar face to look at when I wake up.
And then I have the mammography and the oncological check-up on the same day, December 17th. And that's when I tell them I'm sick and tired of being passed from doctor to doctor, getting tested for every stupid thing that I couldn't possibly have, while we should focus on the useful exams. So, goodbye old oncological wing, hello new oncologist. Who is also my old oncologist from when I was sick, who moved a few years back to a nearby city. Out with the old, in with the new who's also old. ;)

Date: 2012-11-15 07:28 pm (UTC)I'm feeling very frustrated. I have a job I need to finish by the end of today that has prevented me from watching SPN. I did see "Playthings" this morning, though, and I went into capslock in my head. My Sam/Dean shippy heart was in overload and the episode was so perfectly creepy, I loved it. My favourite one so far. I have to say the second season is awesome, just like you said! Wish me luck with finishing the job quickly and managing to watch another episode or two!*is hooked*

Date: 2012-11-15 09:26 pm (UTC)The second season does have the most wonderful monsters of the week. Playthings is a thing of beauty. And I love Dean teasing Sam, they're so adorable and young (
and have no idea what's going to happen, my babies!)no subject
Oh gosh, that's definitely good news.*hugs*
"
(and have no idea what's going to happen, my babies!)Neither do I!
I'm dying to go on all the communities and Tumblrs and places, but I haven't, because I want to watch it completely unspoilt. So far, I only know that Sam dies, or maybe it's Dean who dies? Or both? (See—unspoilt.:)) But they seem okay if the 8th season is on, so I'm just trying not to freak out too much, all the more that I don't even know whether I got it right and how he/they die and stuff—it's all from completely by-the-way, passed-over-my-head random noticing of things while surfing the vast ocean of internet fandom. Oh, and of course I know about Castiel. I also know he has wings.:) And that Dean/Cas is like a massive OTP, beating all kinds of slash pairings across fandoms. But that's pretty much it; despite seeing so much of SPN all over the place, I'm still really like a blank sheet of paper. I mean, I'd managed to miss all the incest! (It's a bit like missing the existence of Mystrade in Sherlock!) I'm so excited to be watching SPN completely unaware of what's going to happen. And it's so bizarre at the same time, knowing that for you (and all other fans) what I'm going all hyper about is old, nostalgic news from the olden days. Basically I get to make a seven-eight-year long journey in a month or two. And that's pretty surreal...
ETA: What are these funny smileys that appear in the subject line?>_>

Date: 2012-11-16 07:00 am (UTC)It's like when I started watching Game of Thrones, and all my friends were warning me to not get attached to anyone, because all your favourite characters die, yadda yadda, and yet when they started dying I was completely shocked and unprepared. :D
Livejournal has been acting weird all day yesterday. No notifications, varnish 503 errors, weird smileys, I hope that doesn't mean they're already implementing the new friendspage, I need more time to adjust!

Wait, what? This shit won't be optional?? Excuse my French, but I am genuinely put off—I just woke up after watching SPN until 2:30 in the morning (I like blaming things like that on you, just so you know.:)) and after only six hours sleep only I have a massive DO NOT WANT sign hanging over my head; my tolerance level to the new Friends page is zero right now.
By the way OMG, OMG, the episodes last night!! I watched "Nightshifter", "Houses of the Holy", and "Born Under a Bad Sign". The music, wow. That song at the end of "Nightshifter", God, I loved it! And then there was "Crystal Ship"!! (Not sure by whom this version was, though. I know it's by The Doors originally, because Duran Duran did a brilliant cover of it in 1995. I'm really more of a visual not music person, but Duran Duran I love with mighty power that comes from years of obsessing as a teenager.) And there was "Knocking on Heaven's Door", and I can't even tell what other songs, I just remember thinking there was like a hit of great music to my brain. Loved the plots, too. Not to mention the Winchester brothers, what is this season, designed to kill me?? I'm not even talking shipping here, just the general love and angst and aaarrrggghh! Sorry, you know how I write, so you'd expect more than random flail and abuse of exclamation marks, but sadly, that's me in fangirl mode. I guess I channel any powers of sophisticated talk into writing—the rest is this.:)
Have a lovely day.♥

Date: 2012-11-16 07:47 am (UTC)THE MUSIC. Oh my god, THE MUSIC. It was the first reason I fell in love with this show, they were listening to all my favourite songs, and when they weren't they were using them as episode titles.
Also, you can blame me. I'm sitting here enjoying this way too much, chuckling to myself, and calculating how much you enjoed an episode from the number of exclamation marks. :D This is just as great as when Tati was going through it and calling me at random hours to ask me things like "don't spoil me anything just tell me if he's going to be alright I must knoooowwwwww" :D
There was a torrent somewhere with all the songs from every episode ever (kudos to whoever did that). I can try and find it again for you, so you can have your very own Supernatural playlist like we do. ;)

Date: 2012-11-16 10:40 am (UTC)Oh God, I laughed at "Tall Tales"! Their versions of how things happened at the start—so hilarious! (It reminded me of an episode of The X-Files that I love.) I particularly loved Sam's bitch face when (according to Dean) he says, high-pitched and SO gay, "What do you think you're doing?" when he sees Dean kissing his 'classy' girl.
And then Sam the Hugger and his wobbly lip when Dean patted him on the shoudler, I just couldn't erase the grin from my face. I gotta say, I've had my moments of raised eyebrows at Jared's acting—just a scene here and there, nothing big—but in those two episodes, where we see him as a ruthless type and then as Dean's over-the-top version of Sam, I'm really impressed!

Date: 2012-11-16 11:38 am (UTC)Up until the start of the fifth season I always thought Jensen's acting was superior to Jared's, until the episode The End (which is still my favourite Supernatural episode), where Jared was so incredibly good. After that, you really start to notice how good he usually is, all the nuances he puts in his character. *_______*

Date: 2012-11-16 09:15 pm (UTC)Meanwhile, can you help me? I've been trying to identify the song at the start of S01 E17 (Hell House)—the one that plays at the background while Dean is tucking in a plastic spoon in Sammy's semi-open, snoozing mouth, then taking a photo on his mobile. I believe you have an icon with Dean doing the drums of the song? I have the soundtrack of S01, but there are tons of songs and I don't know which one is this one.:/
