It's the Birthday Entry! This one was an epic one, at least for my standards. :D It's 29, the last year of my twenties. *drumroll*
First, a picture of yours truly in her lucky red corset (I just *love* it), eating sushi. See the hair? I'm going to cut it on wednesday. That already qualifies as "too long" in my mind. Although I do admit it has a certain puffy quality that on good days I define as "cute". My hair and I have a love-hate relationship.

The idea was to eat sushi and then go for a walk. As soon as we left the restaurant, we realized they were having the local Vintage Festival. As in, winemaking. As in, the sort of anthropological dream of seeing the locals having the same festival they do every year for hundreds of years, with the dancers and the wagons and the music, to celebrate the wine and the grapes. Think Vivaldi's Autumn, Beethoven's Pastorale (with less sake and more hula). We danced along, sang along, but didn't drink anything because wine makes us sleepy. Our ancestors would be ashamed, I know. :D

They even had cheerleaders! Now I've seen them all. :D

They were handing everyone glasses of wine, or even full decanters. It smelled amazing.

You get the idea. These women were singing work songs from the 1800s, and even if the lyrics are depressing as hell, they looked very happy. :D

Then we went to a karaoke bar, where I'd never been before. Last time I tried to sing karaoke, years ago, I got a panic attack, and even if I managed to get out before embarassing myself, I almost threw up on the street. Awful. So, stage fright it was for me. Anyway, Tati loves it (she has this amazing voice), and she asked me to choose a song for her to sing, and I went for this one. Not very birthday-like, but it's one of my favourites, and she sang it so beautifully I cried a bit. The link has translations for the lyrics in english too. *____*
She sang a couple of other songs, and other persons followed her example and sang a few songs, then I gathered up all my courage, stood up, went to the stage, and sang Help by The Beatles. My blood was 90% adrenaline by the time the music started, but I wanted to overcome that huge fear of mine too much. I sang the whole song, didn't miss a note, and got a huge applause at the end! YES!
This morning I bought myself a gift. I had to buy a new pair of shoes (I buy one pair every five years, and then wear it until it falls apart), and I decided to wait until today, so it would count as a birthday gift too. :D So here's what I bought:

This type of shoes is called Francesina, and I've wanted them since when I was 6. Recently they started making them again, and look at them! They are SO PRETTY. ♥

While these boots are the ones I had to buy, because for the winter I only use one pair of high boots and one pair of converse shoes, depending on what I'm wearing, so I needed a little more variety. ^^"
I had to skip the gym today because I slept on my stomach last night, which I never do, and woke up with a wryneck. Well, that, and the air conditioning still on on the bus yesterday. It's wine season, for god's sake! It's cold! I'm feeling fine now, but I thought it best not to stress the muscles too much.
Tomorrow it's vet time (for Sakura) and therapy time (for me), then back to Tati to start the second season of Teen Wolf together! She's in for quite a great journey. ♥

Magari me ne prendo un paio anch'io!

Date: 2012-09-21 12:48 pm (UTC)Il karaoke è proprio divertente.
XD
