Spent a lovely day with Tati, we walked on the beach trying to fight off our shared incoming cold by inhaling the fresh salty air, watched A Study In Pink for the 100th time, sang harmonies on Rock Band. The usual. ^^

Then I came home, and there were a couple of packages on my doorstep.



My Kindle is here! I called it "221b Baker Street" and downloaded every fic I had bookmarked on AO3 (bless that site), and then I got a ebook copy of the complete Sherlock Holmes stories too. It's very easy to use, and the background is a nice light grey one, perfect for someone with my eyesight problems. Now I can bring my favourite fanfics with me everywhere, I'm so happy. *_______*

And my deerstalker hat is here too! I wasn't expecting it before Easter, it was such a nice surprise! I obviously had to put it on right away, even if I bought it for display. It fits perfectly, it's warm and comfy. I can't for the life of me understand why Sherlock dislikes it so much. :D

First attempt at using the self-timer on my camera. I'm learning, even if in the rush I didn't push the chair out of the way and almost fell off the couch. XD

Congrats on your Kindle. I think I told you I started my AO3 account because a few people had expressed a wish to have my fanfics on their Kindle, and I had no idea what a Kindle was like, but it sounded fancy, so I felt good about it.:) I saw a girl on the tram the other day with the same thing you have on the photo and thought, "Ha! This might be a Kindle." and I was right.\O/ I hope you make great use of it!

Since I live alone a self-timer is my best friend. I use the ten-seconds one, two seconds to check that it's actually on, two to run to the right spot, four seconds to do the right serious expression, and two seconds to fight off laughter. :D

I was never interested in e-readers because I love collecting books. I had a library card when I was a kid, but I soon told my dad that I was a Book Capitalist and when I liked a book I wanted to own it. Sadly, I'm not joking, it really happened. :D

But now with AO3 I realized there are so many wonderful possibilities, and with Tati living two hours from here during the summer, one I get to spend on a bus, a book collection that weighs less than my cellphone and takes virtually no place in my bag was too good to be true. And it was the fanfics that finished me. I don't own a laptop, and I always find really good, multichaptered fics around 11pm, and I'm stuck on my desk chair for the next two hours at least. :D

A casa, sono cotta... credo che al lavoro mi sia salita la febbre, ora controllo un paio di cose e m'infilo a letto diretta col treno espresso... ho le orecchie tutte ovattate come se stessi ancora sull'aereo. Anche mio papà sta poco bene. Tu come stai?

Ce l'ho da neanche 24 ore e sono già innamorata, è comodissimo. E' difficile da spiegare, ma lo schermo sotto la luce diretta sembra davvero un foglio di carta, come carta di giornale, non uno schermo vero e proprio. Molto riposante per gli occhi.
