And another anniversary has come and (almost) gone. Today it's 13 years since my father died. Everybody knows how much I hate anniversaries. My therapist says it has a lot to do with my catholic upbringing, with marking the calendar for every tiny occasion. So, even if rationally I know I don't miss him any less any other day of the year, anniversaries are still a low blow. Thankfully, this one came on a rainy sunday, so I was allowed to stay all day in, curled up with Sakura on the couch, reading and listening to old albums he loved. It was quiet and uneventful.

Talking about fandom life, I'm really enjoying the Avengers one. It reminds me of the X-Men First Class one, all full of kind persons, no trolls, with very talented writers all around. The Marvel fandoms are great! Sadly AO3 is down today - according to twitter they get too many hits on the weekend and the servers collapsed - but it gives me a reason to catch up on my to-read folder on my kindle. So many recs, so little time.

I'M BACK!!! Wow, that was a long trip. I took the first train at 7:30 am. My aunt parked the car four minutes before the train left, and we had to run uphill to reach the station. Those years at the gym are surely paying off. I arrived in Turin at 9, and met my eldest cousin, who's studying there. We hadn't seen each other in six months, and she looks older and more beautiful, wow. We had breakfast, and talked a lot, mainly of Game of Thrones. We're both crazily excited about the season finale on sunday. :D

Then I took another train at 11, and spent the next five hours reading Game of Thrones on my Kindle, running to the bathroom (it's the second day of my period, yuk), and watching the scenery. No earthquakes this time, and a taxi ride later I was finally home. Sakura was absolutely flabbergasted. She looked at me as if I was a ghost. She's been in my neighbour's care for only two days, but I guess for a cat it still feels like a long time. She's been following me steadily ever since, and I almost tripped on her twice while cleaning up the air conditioning unit - it's so hot and humid here in Venice, as soon as I came in I took the filters off and washed them, so that tomorrow I can use it, at least to dehumidify the air a bit. There were no damages because of the earthquakes, except for a little wooden camel I bought years ago in Tunisia, that fell from a shelf and broke. Some of my manga were scattered too, but none had fallen on my action figures, so no damage there either. ^^

I had two packages on the kitchen table waiting for me, and I tried to take a picture of the content like I usually do, but Sakura kept getting in my way. XD

Now it's time for some tea, a bit of dusting, and then I'll lie on the couch for a while. These long trips are very tiring when one's on her period. ^^"

There are also some great fandom news:

- You can vote the cover for the Travelling Lemon project here. ^^
- The sequel to X-Men First Class has a release date, summer 2014! YES!!!
- Some pictures of Eleven's New Outfit! I love it! Yesterday I also read some huge spoilers about the identity of the new companion, but my lips are sealed. ;)
- They're releasing a Phase One Avengers Bluray Collection: all the six prequels, plus the Avengers movie, in one delicious package. It would be so freaking tempting, if I didn't already own them all. Still, holy crap, so tempting.

Just came back from seeing The Avengers, and IT. WAS. AWESOME. A perfect mixture of action, drama, great acting and storytelling, fantastic fights, and so many stories all blended into one. There are no main characters, every story has the same importance than the other. When Thor is on screen, it's epic, shakesperian, tragic. When Captain America is on, it gets vintage, classic, proud. With Tony Stark, it's modern and it rocks! I'm also completely, utterly in love with Natasha and Clint, and they deserve their own movie, possibly an awesome prequel.

And the possibilities! So many new stories are ready to be born, so many sequels, so many universes left to explore. Marvel RULES! ♥

This one is late, but yesterday I had another medical exam, and it left me ditzy all day. I get all nervous and worried until the doctor tells me everything's fine, and then my brain decides it's time for a very long nap. Uhm. Anyway, yes, everything's fine, two down, one left and then I'm free until December. Woot!

So, here we are, our weekly Vampire Diaries review. In short, this season is amazing. On with the spoilers!

The daggers of science evolving into violence//We're not sure where the fallout blows. )

Yesterday I finally watched Captain America, and I loved it! It goes to show that the guys at Marvel know that a good superhero movie is about the characters, not the action scenes. And strong female characters who can shoot a guy in a car from twenty miles away. Respect.

So now I'm all set and ready for the Avengers! \o/

First and foremost, I have a tumblr! Yay! I'm still trying to understand how it works, but it feels nice. :D

The Moon In The Well

I finally watched Thor! Woot! Obviously, I loved it. C'mon, it's Kenneth Branagh directing a superhero movie, I knew I was going to love it.

Now, Loki. I mean, seriously. The guy was amazing. That scene with Odin in the weapons vault made me cry and bawl, and broke my heart in every possible way. And I *loved* how they got all shakespearian, with Odin playing it like King Lear, and Loki being the anti-hero so much I was expecting him to burst into a monologue somewhere, and Thor being all Henry V, and such a stupid boy you can't help but loving him even if you'd like to punch him in the face.

Really loved the Frost Giants too. Not like I imagined them to be, but very beautiful design. Also yay for Coulson, and SHIELD, and them mentioning Tony Stark, and oh god, was that Hawkeye? I seriously can't wait for the Avengers movie!

One thing I didn't care about was the romance story. That's kind of one of the main plot points, I know, and Natalie Portman was so adorable, but all I was interested in were the father-son dynamic, and the relationship between the two brothers, and even Lady Sif and the Dorks Three who were so awesome I want to hang out with them in a pub and drink and fight and make my ancestors proud. But the romance felt like something I could do without. Ehm, sorry, Thor.

Can't wait to see it in BluRay! The dvdrip was fine, but I need to see Asgaard in glorious 1080p, all those stars and colours, it was a feast for the eyes. *_____*
