...I'm stuck in the middle with you... )

You know something that really pisses me off? When people use "it's" instead of "its"!!! Grrrrr... =_= I've recently seen it so often, I can't believe it! It's your language, why can't you spell it right?!

And yesterday I finally remembered why a certain scene from Reservoir Dogs was ringing so many bells to me, as if I had already seen it somewhere. I was washing the dishes, and BAM! I remembered, right out of the blue. It happened to me and Alice, on 26th december 2000, in the hospital, right after she fell ill. What I said, what she said, the way I was holding her, it's e-x-a-c-t-l-y as in the movie. Right at the beginning, when Mr White is comforting Mr Orange. I had totally forgotten about that day, it was so much traumatic! Better go and wash my face in cold water again.

And there's nothing funnier, when I'm feeling down and out, than playing with Sakura. So after my mind's big revelations, I put the Reservoir Dogs ost on winamp and started dancing around the house, with Sakura trying to catch me. It was fun like hell! An hour later, my legs were all bleeding, and Sakura was breathless, and I was laughing like mad, because she's so damn funny to watch! She jumps, and runs, and hides, and runs back when she thinks I can't see her... she's so lovely! I'm hooked on a feeeeeeling...
nausicaa83: (<reservoir dogs> tell the tale)
I'm back. Just had a shower, because it's so hot. Today I talked with my teacher again about my thesis, and we decided to cut some things (it's pretty long). We'll see each other again on wednesday, and by that day I should have already done my intro too, and it will be ready to be printed. I'm so tired. I was so lucky I met Hermione, so we had lunch together, and talked an awful lot about everything, and most of all about the 29th, because that's when I have to meet the judge who will appoint me as mom's tutor, and that scares the hell out of me. =_=

When I came back, I went to the manga store and bought some manga, both for me and my cousin, and...drumroll... Reservoir Dogs dvd (the 20th anniversary special edition). Not gonna cry. Not me. Alright, just a bit, because I was so lucky! All the other stores had told me it was already out of print, but these guys still had one dvd in store. Hurrah! \o/\o/\o/ I just watched a couple interviews (Tim Roth, Michael Madsen and obviously Quentin Tarantino), and they were really good, but incredibly strange! O_o I especially loved Quentin's one, you can see how much he loves his job, and he was really funny too. He obviously mentioned Chow Yun Fat's movies as an inspiration to his movie, and I was so proud, because I've already started a new marathon, a Chow Yun Fat Marathon! No, I'm not kidding. And no, I'm not drunk either! :P Yesterday I saw, in a row, City on Fire (you know, that movie they said Tarantino ripped off to make Reservoir Dogs) and Reservoir Dogs. Sadly for City on Fire I could only find a usa dubbed version. It didn't suck, but it wasn't that good either. But still, having Chow Yun Fat and Danny Lee together again in the same movie makes me go fangirling like an idiot! *_______* And by the way, besides the pretty obvious fact that Reservoir Dogs takes one scene and a sub-plot from City on Fire, I just can't see how people could say Tarantino stole the entire movie. Reservoir Dogs is pretty much, you know, an homage to this movie. It's just like he said "I love this movie to pieces, but the last five minutes are better than anything else I've seen, that makes me want to make a movie!". So, it's all about the love! ;) And still, if you want you can take your time and imagine that Chow Yun Fat's past is the same as Mr Orange's (anything is possible, right?), and that just adds more and more love to Tim Roth's character. He's not a tough guy, he's a happy-go-lucky guy, he likes joking, and laughing, just see that scene with Danny Lee when they keep smearing each other's face with pizza and soda! My, how I would have loved to see Mr White and Mr Orange do the same! XD

And weirdly, it was a lot more violent than Reservoir Dogs! O_o The scene when they tortured the cop was... you know, horrible! There's always something about these movies, they're so cruel and sad but you can't just stop watching them because they're beautiful (just like every painting from Munch, I mean). So today I'll watch A Better Tomorrow, unless of course I decide to watch Reservoir Dogs for the fourth time in four days... I'm a weirdo, I know. :P

...but there is only loneliness to find.

That's right, time for my june layout. I couldn't decide between a Rocky Horror Picture Show or a random Clamp one, and then I found this Reservoir Dogs pic, and it was set. I'm becoming kinda polaroid fetishist, I know (blame Memento! :P ). I especially like the blood effect, it took me a while to do it, and much swearing, but I'm glad I left it. The song I chose lacks originality, I know, as it's the song that plays during the opening credits, Little green bag, but I liked it too much, so it's there! ^^

Lookin' back on the track for a little green bag,
Got to find just the kind or I'm losin' my mind

Out of sight in the night out of sight in the day,
Lookin' back on the track gonna do it my way.

Out of sight in the night out of sight in the day,
Lookin' back on the track gonna do it my way.
Lookin' back

Lookin' for some happiness
But there is only loneliness to find
Jump to the left, turn to the right
Lookin' upstairs, lookin' behind, yeah!

Lookin' for some happiness
But there is only loneliness to find
Jump to the left, turn to the right
Lookin' upstairs, lookin' behind.

And so, my Tarantino Marathon continues! Today it was Reservoir Dogs' turn, now my favourite one out of the bunch. I was a bit surprised too, as it wasn't that much violent as they had told me it was. O_o Obviously, there were some pretty violent scenes (and having Tim Roth lying around in a pool of blood all the movie didn't help), but they were never over the top, or pulp. Also the (in)famous ear scene didn't look that much of shocking to me. If I had to choose, I would pick Soldier Blue's leg scene (remember the massacre? and what the soldiers do to the little girl? That's it!) as the most shocking torture scene ever pictured! *shudders*

I loved how all the movie looked like a theatrical play, all set in the same room, leaving to the (fabolous) cast to tell what happened, and giving us all those marvellously-written dialogues! I also liked how, in a movie where the main characters are named after colours, they chose very few colours for the cinematography: black, white, shades of grey, and obviously red.

And my favourite reservoir dog? Mr Orange! I know, I'm predictable... :P I will buy the dvd for sure, but first I have to know which edition contains the censured version (they usually air on tv a version without the torture scene, they're stupid that way), because I want the original un-cut version! ^^

I made a bunch of icons out of that scene with Mr Orange and Malvin Nash, and this one *points* is my favourite one, so I put it as deafult icon. And nooooo, I'm not going on a fangirlish embarassing paragraph about Tim Roth, not me... *gets shot*
