Assorted news!
Do you remember the annoying neighbour upstairs with the loud tv after midnight? Yesterday evening, after 9 pm, someone rang my bell, and asked me if the guy was still living here, because he had been coming over to talk to him for days but he was never home. I told him he comes home every night, and that probably it's just a matter of timing. Shortly after that, the annoying neighbour came home, and the guy was probably waiting for him downstairs, because they started shouting at each other. I was about to call the police, and then they stopped. I guess the stupid neighbour owes someone money, but seriously. What did I do in another life to my neighbours to deserve this guy? At least he keeps the tv volume down since I told him to weeks ago, but if something like this happens again I'm so calling the police.
Yesterday I also finished watching Torchwood. I just have the first two episodes of the fourth season left. Here are some spoilery thoughts.
First, god it was depressing. I'm starting to see a pattern here: the government, all the powerful people suck and in a time of crisis they just want to cover their asses, and normal persons are the only ones who are going to fight to protect each other. It happens in every season finale with Russel T Davies, but this was... even a bit over the top. I loved the storyline, but maybe five episodes were a bit too much for it. Still, lots of character development.
I already knew who was going to die, so it didn't come as a surprise. But what I didn't get is how everyone seems so fascinated by the Jack/Ianto ship. I didn't find it all that romantic. I mean, Ianto is so in love with him, and wants to be a couple, wants Jack to trust him, to talk to him about his past, but Jack doesn't love him at all. He cares for him, sure, but he seems to care more about Gwen. In the end, the only person he seems to love, really love, is the Doctor. Everyone else is eye candy, a nice way to pass the time. Even before that scene with his grandson at the end I was getting angry with him everytime he opened his mouth.
I really loved this series, but it made me question my love for Captain Jack a lot. Great job on handling an immortal character, though, even the annoying traits made sense considering the guy is going to survive everyone.
Before I sit down to watch the two new episodes though I must do some ironing.

Bleah.
