Avatar review, AT LAST! Sorry if I couldn't do it yesterday, but it was snowing (I kid you not), and I could come home only at 1:30 am.
Anyway, this film is wonderful. Besides the CGI and everything (since everyone knows about it and I don't want to bore you with how real that was), I loved the story. It's not original, sure, but it's like it quotes every movie I love, putting so many elements together to create the perfect adventure sci-fi movie. The romance is great, and everything is absolutely perfect. God, I want the blu-ray now.
The only thing I didn't like was the 3d. No, it didn't hurt, but my eyes aren't good enough or something, so for the most time it was simply a dark movie, full of details, but that's it. My friends told me they could see explosions coming towards them, but I couldn't. Maybe, after I get the damn eye surgery, I'll be able to enjoy it too, but for now, I guess this is the last time I try watching a movie in 3d.
Plus, it made my eyes go dry for half the movie, then the soldiers attacked, I started crying a-la Return Of The King, and everything was fine again. :D
And talking about the minor characters, I loved them all. Well, Sigourney Weaver is so amazing, but that's no surprise, but I even loved Michelle Rodriguez's character, which is always the one I hate. I'm glad to see her trying a different kind of character, instead of the usual "bitchy Ana Lucia".
I'm also in love with Neytiri. Most amazing female character in ages!
