Yesterday I finally saw InkHeart. The books are amazing, so I was both worried and excited about this movie. It turns out, it was really, really good. There were changes and cuts obviously, but the book's true spirit was there, and the cast was amazing! It would be worth watching for Paul Bettany's Dustfingers alone. Man, he was awesome, it felt just like my Dustfingers had come out of the book (bad joke, I know). And Brendan Fraser's Mortimer already felt like the Mo from the second book, and that's a great thing. *_*
The one change I didn't like as much as the rest of the movie was the ending. Mostly because of what Meggie did (and couldn't do in the books), and the little part they had to add at the end, probably because they wanted to give some conclusion to the story in case they couldn't do the sequels. So, the ending makes sense in the movie, but thinking of the books, you could find yourself a bit confused.
Whether you're a fan of the books or just in need of a good fantasy movie, you should definitely check this out. I can't wait for the dvd! \o/
Real life update: new haircut, baby! *____*
