Dragonlance animated?

So, Margaret Weis came here in Italy to announce back in Lucca that they were making an animated movie from her Dragonlance books. I was excited about it, until I saw the trailer.
Dragons of Autumn Twilight.
Now I just want to kill them all with an axe and use their skin to decorate my front door. That has to be the worst animation I have ever seen since He-Man. And don't get me started on the horrible CGI.
This so much needs my "Fuck You" icon.

Date: 2007-11-13 02:31 pm (UTC)From a professional CGI standpoint, the cel shaders and volumetric lighting on the dragons are rather nicely done. But that's just the pros. For the cons, this looks like straight-to-video 80's animation similar to "Heavy Metal" minus using any reference for the animation. And in a lot of shots, the dragons look like pre-rendered game sprites. In other words, crap.
My favorite part is how during the army scenes, they animate a soldier once and then duplicate him a hundred times (they thought I wouldn't notice?!) :P
