My aunt is here!!! She arrived on wednesday, and it's Happy Family Funtime Land here again, sorry if I've disappeared on you guys. I love being spoiled by her, it's my one week every three months when I get to be a daughter again, it's intoxicating.

We just came back from the cinema, where we watched Pacific Rim. Since it was Guillermo Del Toro, I knew it was going to be good, but holey moley IT. WAS. AWESOME. Seriously amazing. It's definitely his Magnum Opus, all of his favourite themes all together in one fantastic movie with mindblowing fight scenes, fantastic special effects, an intriguing clever plot, realistic characters I instantly fell in love with, Idris Elba being a God (you know, the usual), and Rinko Kikuchi who's, in a word, BRILLIANT.

Or, to put it simply, an excerpt of a dialogue in the audience after the credits:

Man (sitting next to my aunt, rocking back and forth): "Awesome. Awesome. Awesome. Awesome."
My aunt (smirking): "Awesome?"
Man: "It was BLOODY AWESOME!"

Seriously, go watch it. Bring your friends. Because we need more action movies with POCs, and fantastic female characters, and canon soulbonding, and comic scenes that are never vulgar too. This movie is a gift. *___________*
