News from Happy Family Time land!

My friends, I bring joyous news. With the help of my oldest cousin, her boyfriend, and my aunt, I finally decided to buy a laptop! Look at this beauty:



I called it Sherlock (because it's black and it's pretty and it's the first name that came to mind when I first held it in my arms), it has Windows 8, which is surprisingly easy to use, and I'm in the middle of downloading every program I can think of. And it is so fast! *happy little dance*

In short, I'm having a great time here. A few minutes ago it was snowing too, and we even got a "Merry Christmas" from a cashier at the supermarket. This weather is so confusing. :D

L'utorrent è fondamentale, altrochè, l'ho scaricato subito dopo Chrome. Ho scaricato anche Photoshop, OpenOffice, iTunes, Calibre... Ho anche la presa HDMi, qua sembra fantascienza. :D

Windows 8 mi piace tantissimo!!! L'interfaccia è molto intuitiva, e la puoi personalizzare tantissimo. *_______*

I thought so too at first. I was very worried, and my cousin promised to help me. But then I turned it on, started clicking here and there and it is very intuitive, and everything can be personalized. I've had it for only a few hours and it already has all my favourite programs in an easy-to-access menu. And it's way faster than Windows XP (I jumped from XP to 8). ^^

Per me è il primo portatile, con un salto da Windows XP a Windows 8, mi sento come se stessi facendo un tour dell'Enterprise. :D

Bello il tuo nuovo portatile! Ti dirò, io non amo molto Windows 8 perché è un sistema operativo che è nato per gli smartphone e poi è stato adattato (non benissimo) per i computer normali, ma se non ci devi fare cose strane va benissimo lo stesso. Io in ufficio ho Windows 7, che è velocissimo e molto intuitivo, mentre a casa ho ancora un vecchio PC con XP, che finora mi va ancora bene. ^^;

Piccolo consiglio per l'antivirus: spero che non ci sia montato Norton, che rallenta un casino il computer perché si ostina a fare mille cose in background anche quando non dovrebbe. Se puoi scegliere, meglio installare AVG free, che è più leggero e decisamente meno fastidioso. ;)

Io mi sto trovando benone, ho subito disinstallato le app che non mi piacevano e installato i miei programmi preferiti, così adesso è super personalizzato. Ed è così veloce! *________*

Il Norton me lo volevano vendere col portatile, ma io ho reagito come un vampiro davanti alla croce, programma demmerda. Uso Windows Defender come sul fisso, che è tranquillo, leggerissimo, e fa il suo dovere. ^^

Okay, as you can see I've finally got time to be a normal person, commenting all over the place, so TELL ME ALL! I love laptops and this sort of thing, I run amok in electronics shops. (I'm soon to buy a new TV, leaving my old, trusted 37 flatscreen to my mother, so I'm too excited for words. Let me just say: 3D!\o/) I want to know everything about Sherlock: RAM, processor, screen! By the way, good choice on the brand. I have a friend who knows an awful lot about laptops and I know from him that ASUS are a truly awesome brand. I think I'll be due for my third laptop at the end of this year (I bought my first one in 2005 and never looked back.) and I'll probably go for ASUS as well. Like you it'll be a jump from XP to 8, but your post puts me at ease that I'll personalize it to my liking.

Oh, I forgot - CONGRATULAAAATIONS!

I've had an ASUS computer screen for five years, and it's amazing, so I wasn't surprised to learn their laptops are best. I was indeed worried about Windows 8, but it's really EASY to use, it took me a couple of hours to learn everything and personalize it, and the programs load so fast, soooorceeeeryyyy! I can't see the 3D (left eye is almost blind), so I have absolutely no idea what it looks like, but I bet on a laptop it looks a lot "the future is now!" :D
