What a great weekend! Yes, the weather is horrible, rainy and grey and cold, but I'm spending so much quality time with my aunt! We had a friend of ours coming over both on friday and today, and we had cake and talked for hours, it was such a warm and lovely weekend.

I finally read the Young Avengers The Children's Crusade, that I absolutely adored. Scarlet Witch is one of my favourite characters, and this story was intriguing and fascinating, with a great script and wonderful art, and the kids were amazing. I have so many new favourite characters, I don't know where to start. *______*

We also watched Poirot's Murder on the Orient Express together, they were airing the David Suchet version on tv, with the Lord from Downton Abbey and the Governor from The Walking Dead, and my aunt had never seen it nor read it, so I got to spend two hours chuckling and making dramatic noises and throwing her completely off tracks everytime she asked me "oh would you please just tell me who did it!!!" Her face at the end was priceless, she definitely did not see that coming. :D

She's leaving on tuesday, so tomorrow I'll probably spend the whole day clinging to her arm and following her everywhere like a duckling. It's embarassing, I know. ^^"

I love Poirot so much!! It's one of my comfort blankets, which is a bit scary, but you know.:) I am waiting for them to film the final three stories left, before I instantly buy the complete series. And it's so much fun to watch it with someone who doesn't know whodunnit!

Wasn't the last series dark, though? Murder on the Orient Express in particular.

I hope you have a lovely Monday with your aunt.:)

I used to watch it all the time with my mom, but I must have missed the newest seasons. This one was pretty dark indeed, Poirot was bitter and unhappy, while the version I used to watch when I was a kid, the one with Albert Finney, had Poirot quite delighted in solving the mystery, and with no problems whatsoever in protecting the murderers at the end. It didn't seem like much of a moral dilemma in the movie.

Here I was afraid Poirot would kill himself out of guilt. O_O

David Suchet's Poirot was much lighter, too, for many, many years. There was frequently humour and even when things got tragic, the show somehow managed to avoid turning dark. (Especially with the short stories.) But in the last few seasons, where they produced only an hour and a half long features (about 2 or 3 per season, so much like Sherlock actually) the tone of the series got really minor. Orient Express being the worst, I think. I remember watching it and thinking the same about Poirot at the end.O_O I think they overdid the depressing feeling. The murder mystery, on the other hand, was handled superbly. I'm not surprised your aunt was at the edge of her seat.:)

And now back to my regular scheduled SPN viewing!\o/

Both my mom and Tati's mom are fans of that series, so we end up quoting it quite frequently. :D And David Suchet is such a perfect Poirot, exactly like I pictured him when reading the stories.

The Orient Express is frequently "parked" in Venice Station, when I was a kid my dad used to bring me and my sister to look at it and try and see through the windows the interior. What I'd give to travel on it! *_______*

I read your comment again after I replied and realized you were talking about ITV's Poirot AND Albert Finney's, so you didn't need me to tell you how light the series used to be. By the way, watching it and being fans is totally a joint thing for my mum and myself, too! Just like Orient Express! My mother's grandfather was a stuart on Orient Express when he was young and to this day it's part of the family mythology. We both say how much we'd love to travel on it; my mum in particular would choose that trip over most!:)

Jensen is SO...okay! And for the time being you can consider this sort of thing as permanently on topic.:)

I have so much to do today that I've only managed to see 'The Mentalists'. I loved the sibling themes intertwining. And that the boys managed to stay separated for like ten days before riding together again.♥ It's good there was some talking, too. Finally!

P.S. By the way, I really love your new Tumblr layout.

I was still kinda angry at Dean for killing Amy Pond, but it upsets me a lot more when they're fighting. I'm way too invested in this show. ^^"

I've been trying new themes over the past few days. Some had bugs when I reblogged a audio post, and some had bugs when I reblogged dialogues, and I wanted a color scheme that was relaxing and didn't hurt my eyes. I finally found this one, that has the added bonus of letting me upload a profile picture. *_______*
