I'm really loving this new gym instructor. She's very strict, and makes us work very hard, but I feel healthier and stronger than ever, and she has great taste in music. Yesterday she had us working out to a mix cd with all these classics, samba, mambo, a few Santana hits, and Guns'n'Roses to top it all. Everytime a new song started, we all squeed and cheered, it was so fun. :D

Today I started watching The Hour. A friend on tumblr recommended it to me, told me it was a fantastic show with the actor who plays Q, "and I'm not going to tell you anything else, just see it for yourself". My god, it is absolutely amazing. In a way, it reminds me of Life on Mars, with the meticulous work on recreating a precise time period, in every incredible detail. And let us not forget the soundtrack, with all that jazz music played on the saxophone. But what's made me fall head over heels in love with this show is the gripping story. I just finished the second episode, and so many things have happened, every scene had meaning, the characters are so fascinating, the actors are out of this world, and I'm probably not going to sleep tonight because I'll be watching this show. I need to know what happens next! I'm on the edge of my seat because I want to know what will happen next with the President of Egypt and the Suez Canal even if I already know, since I studied it at school. That's how well-written this show is, I'm biting my nails while watching a show set in a historical period I studied. *__________*

I know it's being described as a Mad Men sort of show, but, besides the time period, it's not much like it. I'd say it feels more like Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, mixed with All the President's Men.

I also have a movie to recommend, it's Paranorman. It's from the ones who did Coraline, so it had to be good, but I wasn't expecting it to be so beautiful. Very delicate and melanchonic, and even if I saw a certain plot point coming, it still made me tear up. The humour is light, never vulgar, but the keyword here is delicate. And it also has the first openly gay animated character, whose sexuality is only revealed in a very casual manner at the end of the movie. It is definitely unmissable.

Interesting, how you get so hooked up on a series, isn't it?:) In some cases to the point where you begrudge your NEED TO SLEEP!

I'll definitely spare you a thought after the finale, because I can feel in my bones how awesome and nerve-wrecking and cliffhanger-y it'll be! By the way I was meaning to ask you about how you got into SPN and when you watched it, so thanks for saying in advance.:)

I watched 'Death Takes A Holiday' last night, after 'Sex and Violence', and mourned the loss of another character. And then...

I watched one more as you do when you're HORRIBLY ADDICTED. I watched 'On the Head of a Pin' and boy, what an episode to end a marathon on at one o'clock at night. The darkest episode for me. I wanted to burn them all, even Cas, for putting Dean through that. I have to tell you, the protective mode I go into when they torture Dean, it's like I have wrath, seriously.O_o

Which is why it was disturbing yet expected how much I liked seeing Sam go all evil on Alastair. I like watching Sammy do his demonic stuff, full stop. I can't help it.*hangs head*

Onto lighter episodes this morning. Couldn't help but grin at Dean thinking Sam was hitting on him in 'It's a Terrible Life'. (And wasn't it just? A terrible life for both of them.) And then the whole fans and slash stuff.:D That guy, the prophet, Chuck—he was so well cast. The actor did an amazing job, I thought, I really liked him.

So I'm heading for the final four episodes of the season. Just so you know. Sorry about the essay! Er...expect more!

I got into SPN because of a friend who I don't see anymore. Even with all our differences, I must thank her for that one. ;)

I get over-protective of Dean too. To the point where sometimes I have to pause the episode, stand up and walk up and down the room until I've calmed down. My baby. My fictional baby. ♥

I think The Monster At The End Of The Book is the one Supernatural episode I've seen the most. Chuck is my spirit animal, and the mere idea of characters from a book coming up to meet their creator, it's a dream come true, the best storyline they could come up with. And the prophet twist they put to it! Genius!

Get ready because you got a bumpy ride ahead. Starting with The Rapture, which is an incredibly beautiful episode, all about Castiel, but will break your heart over and over.

(and now off I go to watch the Hour, god that show is addictive!)

I just watched 'The Rapture'. So good to have the background story of Jimmy—and some of Castiel's in a sense. It was wonderful to see Misha Collins play the two characters, pure delight.

As to 'The Monster At The End Of The Book', I have to tell you, the way I connected to it as a writer...I was watching some scenes and could really, really relate. For instance, the sense of power that the characters are MINE (even those that I 'borrow' for fanfic) in that I can make them do anything, make them into anything—that scene where Chuck thinks he is God and he's put Dean and Sam through things, it really struck a cord with me. And also the idea that the characters actually exist and you merely get it/them all out in a story, more like a conduit than a creator—I've had moments like that, too. All in all a personal episode for me.:)

I'm purposefully refraining from going straight for the next episode, because I want to take a breath and prepare myself for the finale. I mean they locked Sammy away. I know why they did it, but the angst is running pretty high already!!

Is the finale a two-parter? I'm scared to go looking on the web for fear of spotting a word accidentally and spoiling myself.*shudders*

The final episode is the usual length, but I consider When The Levee Breaks and Lucifer Rising a two-part finale, to be watched all in one sitting. Very powerful episodes indeed! (bring tissues and chocolate!)

Okay, DVD on, and I'm about to watch the last two episodes of the season in one sitting! If you don't hear from me it's probably because I'M A MESS AND HAVE OVERDOSED ON CHOCOLATE!!

In which case you don't want to be hearing from me anyway.:)

L'importante è che le storie di spie, guerra fredda, ti piacciano almeno un pò e sei a posto. E' una serie davvero splendida, vedrai vedrai!
