nausicaa83: (<cabin pressure> supreme commander)

This morning for a few minutes I had it in my mind to leave Tumblr. I had had to go through several pages of people boasting about how they were older than 17, thus belonging to the "grown-up" category of Tumblr users. While my ears were ringing with the sound of my cells dying, I stumbled upon a video of the recording of the Cabin Pressure episode "Limerick". Cue ecstatic screaming, flailing of the arms a-la Kermit The Frog, pathetic attempts at downloading the file before it will inevitably be sacrificed to the internet gods, and crazy declarations of undying love to that social network.

And in keeping with the Cabin Pressure mood, not even an hour later I saw a man on a unicycle. Crossing the street, right in front of me, all calm and collected while everyone else was staring at him, me included. Definitely brilliant. :D

When I came home I stopped at the store and bought, among other things, a couple of lemons, because the ones I had weren't photogenic enough. ^^

My sister is ten years younger than me, yet the other day as we were walking in the park and saw a group of uncoordinated, over the top teenagers, she was the one who said, "Oh God, it wasn't that bad in my days." And I said, "Oh yes, it was!":D

Then I gave her a short speech on how the teens were the way in which the deity that created us showed us it could be cruel!

The video is adorable, indeed, and I can only wish that it was closer--but it would have disturbed the actors, probably, and I'd rather not see them at all, then have them bothered, while they create this perfection!:)

Teen years are definitely the worst, although at least our generation didn't have internet. The idea of whiny teenager me sharing her thoughts with the whole world instead of with her very private diary scares the hell out of me. Those things last forever for the world to see!

I do not share that nostalgic irrealistic view that our childhood was better: dvds are better than vhs, cds are better than tapes. All those hours I spent rewinding tapes with a pencil because they got stuck in the cassette player, GOD. But I'm glad I didn't have social networks, that's for sure. ^^

I loved how we could see how they move: I had the idea it was more like theatre, with everyone standing close, instead they ... step around each other, like a dance, it's brilliant. :D

I also thought it was more like a theatre, judging by those photos I sent you a link to—maybe it depends on the dialogue?

And I completely share your balanced perspective on what the past was.:)

Yep, I guess when the dialogue is fast, to-and-fro, they all stand close to the mic, while when one of them has a little monologue the others step back.

Being able to be in the audience at least once would be in my top three requests for the demon Crowley from Supernatural. Yes, I would lose my immortal soul, but hey. It would be the best experience ever.

Plus I'd get to kiss Mark Sheppard to seal the deal. Nice! :D
