Spent the day in Padova with two friends of mine, and it was a blast. I talked so much I'm literally hoarse, and we did some shopping, ate pizza, and organized a photography day in Venice. They're both studying professional photography, I just have my cute digital camera, but I can be an awesome guide. :D
Besides, I'm participating in a wonderful project, A Travelling Lemon Gift for John Finnemore. Follow the link for the rules, but basically you just take a lemon, put it next to a landmark in your city, and snap a picture, and then they'll all be sent to John Finnemore as a gift from his fans. Isn't it the most adorable idea ever? And I have literally a hundred landmarks to choose from! So they're going to take their professional photos of the Campanile of S.Marco, while I run around yelling "where do I hide the lemon in plain sight in front of a freaking cathedral?!" It's going to be crazy. :D
Let us not get off the nerd wagon just yet, because I have pictures of three packages I found on my doorstep when I came home, one from Amazon, two from Etsy. *_____*

I went a bit crazy with the Benedict Cumberbatch suggestions on Amazon, but a dvd there costs 3 pounds, it's unbelievable. An E.E. Cummings anthology because I read a few poems online and got intrigued, finally the Jeeves and Wooster boxset (finally!!!), and two cds I had on my iPod and that I was feeling way too guilty about. If I love it, I should buy it. Yo-ho a guilty pirate's life for me.

An incredibly cute cover for my Kindle (strawberries!), that actually protected it from a fall not even five minutes after this picture was taken. And the last piece for my Sherlock shrine, the magnifying glass! That made me squeal out loud when I opened the box. :D The shrine shall be on a shelf in my living room I emptied a couple of months ago for my favourite books, high enough that Sakura won't bother it, with the hat and the books and Sherlock Holmes' card from the museum. *________* Pictures shall be posted as soon as I'm satisfied with the final result. ;)

As Abed would say, cool. Cool cool cool cool.
I also bought orange blossom body cream. Orange flowers smell like Sicily, and it was always my mom's favourite scent, so now I'm sitting here with the smell of my childhood all around me. Nice. ♥

What a lovely bunch of lovely things, yay for you! Also, I've never smelled orange blossom scent--I'll keep in mind sniffing it when I go around to shops with cosmetics.:)
Glad you had a lovely time with your friends...and that you weren't late.;)

Date: 2012-04-17 07:32 pm (UTC)The orange flower here is called "zagara", and it's one of my favourite words, it sounds so sweet and exotic. *______*
I was right on time, as in the train and me arrived at the platform together, and all thanks to these three years of gym practice, because man did I have to run. XD But it was worth it! \o/

Date: 2012-04-17 07:29 pm (UTC)I was thinking about reccing something to you today. On New Year's I came across an episode or two of this TV series called "Miranda". It's very British, very refreshing, very off the beaten track. I like it, but it might not be everyone's cup of tea. However, imagine my delight when I watched the rest of the episodes of series one today (only six episodes of 30 min) and I saw John Finnemore! I wasn't sure if it was him for a moment, but then they showed him facing the camera, while he spoke--and come on, I'd recognize that voice anywhere.:D So keep it in mind. He's in two or three episodes in both series that have been produced so far, and his part isn't big, but you know--it's just lovely to see him.
I was also thinking only this morning that years ago I saw Roger Allam in the theatre in London. He was in a play with Gillian Anderson and I absolutely adore her. I met her after the play; I wish I'd lingered a bit longer to see him, but I wasn't quite myself.:)

Date: 2012-04-17 07:39 pm (UTC)I saw a couple of gifs on tumblr of "Miranda", and now I have to see it! To the torrent! Yo-ho yo-ho!
Next time I'll visit London, I must go to the theatre. Any musical would be fine, it's just an experience that I have to do!
By Gillian Anderson you mean Scully? As if the woman I was madly in love with from age 13 to age 17? That Gillian Anderson?
Leave now. I must go to my mind palace and squee in delight for a while.

Date: 2012-04-17 08:26 pm (UTC)You definitely should! You'll love it. I miss that about London A LOT. Last year a friend came to visit and she brought me this:
She'd gone to see the play after my rec and said the cast was great. I asked after Mr. Scott and she said that he was superb.:) I wanted to cry a lil' bit; I so wanted to have been able to see this.
"By Gillian Anderson you mean Scully?"
Yes!\o/ Picture attached to your Inbox.:) She is so beautiful. And as it turned out polite, and a really talanted actress. I was in awe. I had adored her for years and it was amazing to meet her. London is a blessing for people of the fannish disposition.:)
ETA: Oops--sorry for the huge picture; I don't know how to post it small.:/

Wow, that sounds amazing! I was an avid X-Files fan back in the day, it was the first thing I loved that my parents didn't, it was a weird but nice feeling, like I was slowly getting out of the egg. ^^
