nausicaa83I just got the weirdest phonecall. Now, for the past few weeks I've been receiving several phonecalls, mostly at dinnertime, from a telephone company that wants me back. I moved to another one years ago, and every single time these guys called, I politely told them that I'm happy with my choice and that was the end of the matter. Fifteen seconds tops, and everyone was happy.
This particular guy, instead, said he wanted to know why I decided to do such a stupid thing as they obviously offer better plans, and that I must be quite dumb to refuse their offers.
I'm not sure how I managed to stay calm, but I made him notice that he had no right to call someone out of the blue, insult them, and then presume they'd see how wrong they are and sign up right away. Quite frankly, I added, being rude is the perfect way to alienate someone from your company forever.
At that point, he closed the phone in my face. Why yes. I'm quite possibly the first person ever who managed to have a guy from a call-center do that. And I was being polite too, even if I had every reason to insult him back.
He's lucky I didn't go Good Omens on his ass and send a demon through the phoneline. I've been watching Supernatural for years, now, I know perfectly well how to do it, thank you very much. :D
