So, lots of things happened in the last couple of days!

I had a great therapy session yesterday. So many topics, so much to talk about. Sadly next friday is a national holiday, and we won't be able to see each other until next tuesday, but we talked so much yesterday that the long wait won't bother me that much. My throat feels better, and I'm much more relaxed. Sakura is finally back home, and I feel much better having her around.

Today I saved someone's life. It sounds really weird to say that out loud, but that's what happened. I had just gotten out of the bus, and I was crossing this pretty narrow street from the bus stop to the supermarket. I saw a car arriving, way over the speed limit, and this woman next to me was looking in the other direction. She stepped right into the street when the car arrived, and just on instinct I stepped after her, grabbed her by the shoulders, and all but dragged her quickly back on the pavement. The car rushed by, so close it almost touched her. She thanked me a lot, and she was shaken up, so I walked with her for a bit, then doubled back and entered the store. That's when I stopped and realized that there was no way for the car to miss her if I hadn't been there. Maybe it wouldn't have killed her, but it was going really fast, it would have definitely seriously injured her. I'm really happy with myself right now. ^^

The weird thing is that I was crossing the street there because I wanted to make some toast. That's the reason. I got a craving for toast on the bus and decided to buy some cheese and ham before heading home. If I hadn't had that silly thought, she would have been hit by a speeding car. What the hell. Life is really, really weird. But the toast was amazing, it truly was toast worthy of a heroine. :D

I've finally learned two full songs on my ukulele, and working on a third. I can do both Space Oddity and American Pie, and I'm working on Rainbow Connection (next stop: AC/DC). It's super relaxing and so much fun. \o/

What else? I finally bought Bravely Default, because everyone was very enthusiastic about it, and because I love RPGs. I'm also reading way more Winter Soldier fanfics than it's probably healthy, because angsty pairings like Steve/Bucky are my jam. :D

I promise if I ever learn how to play You Shook Me All Night Long on my ukulele I'm definitely posting a video here!

First of all, happy pi day, Dean Winchester's favourite holiday! \o/

*gets shot*

Terrible jokes aside, it's been a good, although quite intense day. I had a "very productive" (according to my therapist), "very exhausting" (according to me) therapy session. When I left I was feeling both restless and tired, so I wandered around for a bit. I saw a lovely dress in the window of a shop, and I decided to see if they had my size. The shop was empty, and the owner and I started a conversation about the weather, the Carnevale, one thing led to the other, and at one point she asked me what my job was. I told her about mom and me being her legal guardian, and she gasped and told me her little brother has been in a coma for the last fifteen years. Now, it's hard to explain, but these situations are very rare, so even if it sounds really weird, we were both ecstatic to meet another human being who was going through the same ordeal. She showed me pictures of her brother on her phone, we talked cat scans, surgeries, meds, what her doctor says, what my doctor says, we exchanged stories and we agreed on everything. Empathy is fine and all, but nothing beats personal experience. We hugged, and I promised to drop by next time I'll go to the hospital.

And I also bought the dress, because it looks awesome and it was really cheap. *_____*

Sorry for the selfie quality, but I was too tired to set up my camera with the timer and all. The fedora is there because I looked in the mirror and my thought process went like this: "this looks so awesome, you know what would make it even more awesome? a fedora! fedoras are awesome!"

Yes, I grew up on bread and Indiana Jones. :D

And the Kingdom Hearts decal for my Nintendo 3ds arrived this morning, from Latvija. How cool is that? I wish I could go back in time and tell baby!Nausicaa, with her penpals and letters that took weeks to arrive, that in a few years we'll be able to shop in Riga from our living room. So cool!

Why am I still awake? Because I just finished the last Professor Layton game, The Azran Legacy. Which came out yesterday. This is what happens when games are released right before the weekend. It was the best one, so that didn't help in trying to pace myself. I had a few problems with the last puzzles, because everything that happened in the finale made me cry my eyes out, and I couldn't see what I was doing. I'm even sadder than before that the series is now over, but at least we got such a wonderful last chapter. Which really makes one want to marathon the whole series all over again. But not now because it was 13 hours of puzzles and maths and riddles in two days, and I think I need to rest really badly.

But still, such a beautiful, beautiful last chapter to a wonderful series. ♥

It's been a couple of eventful days. Mostly because it turns out I have an infection going on (and that explains all the random diseases) but I finally got the right meds, and I'm on my happy way to a full recovery, yay! Today is the first day in weeks nothing hurts, and my brain is in a happy cloud of endorphins. :D I had quite a lovely therapy session yesterday too, and my Star Trek Science Department bracelet arrived in the mail, so yay!

I'm currently slowly listening to Welcome to Night Vale. Slowly because I'm trying to make it last longer, since it's two episodes a month once I catch up. It's a bit hard to describe, but I'll give it a shot. It's a free podcast of a fictional community radio station from a city in the North American desert, that is filled with the paranormal. Think Twilight Zone, they have the Council's secret police, misterious glowing clouds, angels, floating cats in the bathroom, mysterious hooded figures, and yet everything is discussed as normal, day-to-day routine life. Here's a little trailer to give you an idea:

It's at the same time really funny and incredibly relaxing. There's also an adorable love story too, but I won't spoil it for you. It's also on iTunes, if that's more your thing. And it's completely free, which is awesome.

Oh, and I finally got a Dream Address on Animal Crossing New Leaf (7500-2378-4036) if you want to take a look. ^^
nausicaa83: (<kingdom hearts> power of the keyblade)
Just a little announcement, I finally installed Steam. Everyone was talking about it and I got curious, and now I get why it's so famous. I just bought Portal, Portal 2 and The Testament of Sherlock Holmes for €14. Yippie-kay-yay, motherfucker! I still have to learn how the community thing works, but if you want to friend me I'm nausicaa83 over there too.

This is going to be fun. *_____*

And since we're on the subject of videogames, and because I need friends on Animal Crossing New Leaf, here's my 3DS code: 3652-1773-6457. Drop me your code here in a comment so I can add you back. ^^

After seeing so many enthusiastic players back on tumblr, and after reading many reviews about how relaxing Animal Crossing New Leaf is, I made up my mind and bought it. Not only it's really relaxing, but it's also VERY addictive. I don't even have a house yet, and I'm already selling fruit and seashells and buying furniture and talking to everyone and collecting bugs... so addictive.

While I was in the store I spotted an old friend of mine on the shelf, squeed out loud and bought that too.

The old friend is Myst, the very first videogame I ever played, back in 1995. It was my dad, my sister and me, with a couple of notepads, pens everywhere, and no guides whatsoever. I still remember when we got to our first ending (blue page), it was one of the most exciting memories of my childhood. :D

And now I can carry it with me everywhere I go! Dear old island of Myst, how have I missed you! \o/

I even called my town in Animal Crossing 'Myst'. I came this close to calling it 'my butt', like someone did on tumblr, and whose screencaps made me crack a rib from laughing, but then it was my very first game, so I thought I'd play it like a grown up. (Think about it though: "I'm so happy you decided to live in my butt! / There are many secret locations in my butt. / Many tourists love to spend their holidays in my butt. / All hail the new Mayor of my butt!")

Obligatory entry with pictures I forgot to post the other day because I'm lazy. :D

I finally found Avengers action figures that include Hawkeye and Black Widow! Yessss! The Disney Store in Florence is five times bigger than the one in Venice, and it felt a lot like Heaven. :D The Phoenix Wright game is a birthday gift from [livejournal.com profile] juuhachi_go, I started playing it yesterday, and besides a strong deja-vu for all those laywer shows I used to watch when I was a kid (Perry Mason anyone?), I also found out I could never be a lawyer. Five minutes in I was already shouting at my character to just shoot the witness because he was obviously the killer. Oops. I'm having lots of fun. :D

The plan was to put them on the shelf with my Marvel comics, but that's too low a shelf, and Sakura would play with these figures in a second if she could reach them, so I put them on the Tolkien shelf instead. They get to guard Fables and the Walking Dead, it's a good gig. ;)

Got to rush, I just remembered that the second episode of Neverwhere is airing in a couple of hours. I listened to the first episode yesterday and I *loved* it. I'm a huge fan of the book, and was waiting anxiously for this radio show. At first I thought it was a bit confusing for those who hadn't read the book, but after a few minutes it completely won me over. James McAvoy as Richard is amazing, and while everyone is superb, my favourite one so far has to be Anthony Head as Mr Croup. My god, he's brilliant. Also sounds a lot like Herc when he's bitching at Douglas, which is at times both incredibly creepy and absolutely hilarious. Talking about hilarious, Richard calling Hunter a "hooker" over and over again made me almost fall from the couch laughing. I'm a bit sad Romola Garai got such a small part, though. Still, they're all incredible, and I can't wait for tomorrow, when we get to meet Benedict Cumberbatch as the angel Islington. Perfect casting is perfect, everybody go home.

New pages for the Tsubasa epilogue, and they're awesome! We get more insight on the story, and they're so splendid. And I found myself humming Tonight, Tonight by the Smashing Pumpkins while reading them. Is my brain trying to suggest me a video idea? Maybe. :D

Today my period started, so no more feeling nauseated. I'm actually kinda hungry, and even if I can't go to the gym tonight (sob), at least I can eat something else beside boiled rice. Hurrah! Since I'm stuck on this chair, I could finish the second Professor Layton game, the Diabolical Box one. It was even better than the first one, and I'm getting really good at these puzzles. :D

Real life news: I have a little bit of a cold, and it actually makes me feel happy, as usually I get something stronger in November. Is my body getting stronger? Hope so. I'm having lots of fun at the gym, and I can see it's working. I'm slowly getting more coordinated, and I don't get shortbreathed anymore.

Today's Supernatural episode was cute and all, but now I really want us to go back to the main storyline. I'm probably going to regret saying this, but I want an heart-breaking episode like The End, or I'm going to explode.

Also jumping on the Nintendo Ds wagon: I borrowed the first Professor Layton game from Tati, and I loved it. I'm quite good at it, so now I want to try my hand with the next one. Puzzles, puzzles!

And last but not least, next tuesday my favourite Italian writer's new book will finally be in stores. Can't freaking wait! In the meanwhile, I went on with the Vampires saga by Anne Rice. I finally finished the Memnoch one (man, that was so boring!), so now I can read the Armand one, and I'm so excited about it. Love that kid. *_*

Everybody meet Castiel, my new Nintendo DS!

I bought it so that I could play with Kingdom Hearts - 358/2 Days. I'm just at my second mission, and I still have to get used to the buttons (I still jump when I'm supposed to attack), but I'm in a crazy Kingdom Hearts mood! I love this story so much!
