It's been raining, with various degrees of intensity, since last afternoon. I'm over the moon. Sakura has this constant expression like she feels victimized by the rain, it's pretty funny. I slept with a blanket (a very thin one, almost a sheet, but it still counts), this morning I used the hair dryer for more than two minutes without breaking into a sweat, and as soon as I finish writing this entry I'll iron the pile of fresh laundry that's been sitting in my room all week waiting for a cold day!

I have therapy this afternoon, and my therapist, who hates the cold and the rain, texted me twice to ask me if I wanted to postpone it. Postpone it? When it's the first time in four months I can wear trousers and real shoes and jump into puddles and impersonate Don Lockwood while skipping through the last hordes of tourists left this season? I wouldn't miss it for the world!

And a much-expected package from Amazon arrived five minutes ago!

My favourite part of re-watching Teen Wolf with Tati is that everytime a character takes off his shirt, I turn around and tell her, very seriously "This part is totally necessary. Vital to the plot." I just can't help it. :D

But can we talk about how horrible that cover is? I had a huge fight with myself because I wanted to buy this dvdset weeks ago, but I couldn't stomach it because that pseudo-Twilight cover was making me sick. I know they're trying to lure in viewers, but this show has nothing do with that crap, thank you very much. They should write that on the cover! "This show has strong, indipendent, three-dimensional female characters who don't need men to feel validated". And sexy shirtless werewolves.

Next, Cinderella is finally on bluray! I'm so looking forward to seeing it, Beauty and The Beast on bluray was stunning (first time I saw it I spent the whole movie doing an impressive Colonel Kurtz impression, but with "the colours! the colours!"), I can only imagine this one is going to be just as beautiful. Now if I could only get The Little Mermaid too, then my life would be complete. ♥

When I was in high school, Catch 22 was my favourite book, along with Hamlet. I read it a thousand times, carried it with me everywhere. And it took me all these years to realize I only ever read it in italian! Shame on me! And it's only 5 pounds! Seriously, how come books on Amazon cost one fourth of what they cost here in Italy? I sometimes feel guilty when I think of my beloved local stores, but if I were to shop there like I used to years ago, I could never buy all these things. With what I spent for one dvd boxset, one book and three cds, I could buy only ONE novel here. It's crazy.

And now it's cold air that's getting through my open window. Actual cold air. This day just keeps getting better. *__________*

First, some good news about real life! My aunt is finally coming to visit on thursday. I'm absolutely ecstatic: with her mom's accident, the last time she came here was last February, while I only managed to go and visit her for two days in June. That's the longest we've ever been separated, and her absence was driving me up the wall. I shall spend the whole of tomorrow cleaning up the house for her, because I love it when she compliments me for my tidyness. :D

On sunday I finally heard from a friend of mine who's gone through a personal tragedy last June, and who after that decided to cut off all communications with everyone. I obviously respected her wishes, and just sent her a few texts now and then to let her know I was thinking about her. On sunday she answered back, and she wrote me that even if she didn't feel like talking to anyone, she was ready for having a written conversation. From a psychological point of view it was brutal for me, what with talking about death, and loss, and feeling completely empty, but by the end of it she said she was feeling better and thanked me. Sharing can hurt, but at the same time I'm so happy I could do something to help her, that nothing else matters.

Tati came by to spend the whole of monday here, and as I said before, monday is now my favourite time of the week. We played music, watched Basil The Great MouseDetective and compared it to canon Doyle stories, and we had, as always, a wonderful time. ♥

Today I had therapy, another productive session, that was sadly cut short because we heard screams from a room down the hallway, and it was an elderly lady who had fallen on the floor. My therapist ran to help her, and then a couple of nurses arrived, and finally a doctor came by too, but it was scary while it lasted. Luckly she wasn't hurt, nothing broken, but she was really scared.

And now, on to the fandoms! First, news for all you Sherlock fans, the Casebook is finally available for pre-order, and they released the cover too, more details here. I'm so looking forward to it, and it's so nice to have news about my beloved favourite show even during the Horrible Hiatus. ^^

Last but most definitely not least, the Teen Wolf finale. I kept talking about it all weekend, and it's a miracle Tati didn't just lock me outside the flat or anything. Short, non-spoilery review: I freaking loved it. I had to stop it after five minutes in, to go to the bedroom and grab Snoopadoop, so that I could hug it for the rest of the episode. Yes, I looked like a 13-year-old girl. No, I don't care one bit. It was beautiful and heartbreaking, and during a certain scene with the Stilinskis I was crying so much I was sobbing, not a pretty picture. My eyes still feel puffy because of that. Yet I loved how they kept making fun of themselves during the final battle, what with the music and the snide remarks, and the eyerolls. When a show starts taking itself too seriously, it's the end (remember the train wreck that was Heroes?). I'm happy we got to see some of the new storylines for the next season, instead of being left there hanging. Although the idea of having to wait a whole year for new episodes is making me want to throw stuff at the walls. Oh well, I'll have all of twelve months to convince all my friends to give this show a try, and then stand there cuckling while they succumb to its awesomeness. One way or another, I'm gonna find ya, I'm gonna getcha getcha getcha getcha... :D

I'm putting off doing something I should do (it involves papers and getting all of mom's documents out, and I've been postponing it since forever) and I'm dead set on doing it today so that I won't ever have to think about it ever again, and to put me in a cheerful mood, so that I won't throw everything out of the window or, I don't know, set the house on fire, I grabbed my camera and took pictures of the latest things I bought. So there.

An explanation first. Every year at the Disney Store they sell a customized snow globe for christmas. It's a tradition of mine to buy one every year, and put it by the tv. I love them. And I got my cousin into doing it too, although my aunt doesn't seem to like this traditon that much. Anyway! Yesterday I went to see if they already had them, and I found this amazing Jack Skellington one, with the Sandy Claws costume and the flying coffin and everything. It's perfect. Although when my therapist saw it she kinda turned green and tried to ask me why the coffin. It's so beautiful, that's why the coffin!

C'mon, they're adorable! *_____*

Also, I re-arranged my action figures, so now I have all the Kingdom Hearts ones on the shelf on top of my computer. They're so beautiful, the details are amazing, and now there really is no doubt about which game is my favourite one.

And Balthier, and Clare, I know. And Axel got cut off from the picture, poor guy is in the left corner. And I do need to get my dvds in some order, there are tv series among my manga, it makes no sense.

Close-ups and ramblings under the cut! )

Ok, now it's definitely time to get down and do that stupid census thing. Maybe I should put on some classical music to relax some more, before I start swearing and set the keyboard on fire. Mmmmh.

Crazy weird happenstance of the day. A few hours ago I was cleaning up the house, a broom in one hand, a duster in the other, because my aunt is coming on monday and I want everything to be squeaky clean. Just at the right moment, from my Ipod, set on random, starts playing A Spoonful of Sugar. Right after that, Whistle While You Work. Now, besides the giggles, I think I've made the ultimate experience: how it feels like to live inside a Disney movie. Or in Andalasia. :D
