nausicaa83: (<inception> reality)

Just finished watching Drive. It's one of those movies that are absolutely flawless. Everything, from the directing to the acting to the music to the lights, everything is simply perfect. I spent the whole movie trying really hard not to blink so that I wouldn't miss a single detail, that's how beautiful it is. And it was freaking hard considering I started crying halfway through it, and I still have tears in my eyes. And now I'll add Ryan Gosling and Carey Mulligan to my list of actors I love so much I'll watch every movie they'll ever do.

I tried to write a longer review, but my brain wouldn't cooperate. It was all "oh god, awesome awesome awesome" and that was the end of it. And I found it funny how all the reviews I read were more or less "just go and watch this movie, it's awesome and that's it". :D

The one thing I didn't get was the pink mistral font. I mean, I'm not complaining, I just didn't get it.

same reaction. just a perfect movie. this year - it is so far the best one.

the font - I guess it was the director's choice. He just likes it.

Sort of like Avatar and Papyrus? Guys, it's not 1995 anymore. O_O

Although pink mistral went really good with the music. Speaking of which, I'm getting a bit too obsessed with it. *_____*

God! I've listened to that music a hundred thoudand times. I love this slow love ballad in the end and all those synt-pop melodied.

It's funny because I don't think I would have liked those songs if I had heard them on the radio, but in the movie they were so perfect and I fell in love with them. Synth-pop and all.

yeah, they help to keep the soul of the movie so very light, although the whole story is pretty dark

It's so coherent to the main character. You have this sweet, ethereal love story, in such a grim, dark world.

Ok, now I have to go and watch it again right this instant.

True! And the husband, at first I thought he was annoying, and then I really liked him, and then he got shot and I wasn't expecting that at all. O_O

My biggest problem was with Ron Perlman, because everytime I see him I see Hellboy, and I had to tell myself "that's not Hellboy, that's not Hellboy" everytime he was on screen. XD

I like Ron. I don't picture him as a bad guy too.
My biggest shock was when they shot that pretty lady from MadMen. that was uncalled for.

The one in the bathroom? That was so unexpected, and the one moment I knew this movie wasn't going to have a happy ending. ;_;
