nausicaa83Today my therapist noticed my Sherlock necklace, the one with the bottle of pills, and she asked me what it was. I told her about the tv show, and explained her the puzzle. She went really serious, and asked me:
"So what does it represent for you? When you're wearing it, are you sending a message about duality, life and death, danger and safety, dark and..."
"Oh no, the message I'm sending is 'Hey Ya I'm a Sherlock fan!' "
At that she almost fell from her armchair laughing. :D
So then I showed her my Supernatural bracelet "And see this? It has all kind of religious charms, but I'm an atheist, I wear it because of my favourite tv show, it's all about demons and angels and stuff." Next time I'll be sure to wear my X-Men necklace. *___*

I now know why "Sherlock" hit me so much (apart from the obvious things--because it's great, duh:)) and why I prefer a particular dynamic between Sherlock and John, not to mention that I have undone quite a knot that's been with me since 2008 and the ill fate of Donna Noble. In short--therapy at its best--enabling me to see things that I wouldn't otherwise do!
Take a photo of that neckless, please, I'd love to see it! I know we have the same bracelets, but I don't think I've seen the neckless.

XD And now don't get me started on the duality in Study In Pink (two pills, black and white, sherlock and john, sherlock wearing black and john wearing white, life and death as they both 'attempt' suicide -john has a gun and in the pilot it's hinted he's contemplating using it on himself, while sherlock has no problem risking poisoning to prove a point... i said STOP ME)

Date: 2011-10-04 05:06 pm (UTC)My background is in Psychology, as I'm sure I've mentioned. Also, I'm sure you've heard the classic "Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar." So I know what you mean.:) I've asked myself what's the symbolism of my Sherlock bracelet, and the answer was similar to yours--it's about the love for the show. But then I realized there WAS symbolism, only it wasn't connected to the object. The bracelet was a reminder to myself about the existence of a 'happy place' where I create, and connect, and feel content. So ironically the symbolism wasn't in the object itself, but rather in what it represented.
In other news, I knew I'd missed that post with the neckless--I'd have commented! Cool--and the nails, and the glasses, too.:)

Well, I'm up to three pages in the diary, but it's mostly notes, like at a university lecture or something. It turns out my deeper thoughts are way over-organized, I use little arrows and charts and everything. XD

Date: 2011-10-05 04:14 pm (UTC)I graduated in Archaeology, specifically roman towns and roads and the likes. Really cool stuff. I started studying latin at 10 because I wanted to be an archaeologist since then, then I went to study ancient greek in high school, and then university.
Studying is what I do best, and that's good because I'm a disaster when it comes to anything like sports, or running, or even the simple stuff. Seriously, I can't even stand on one leg without wobbling right and left. XD

La cosa divertente è che nell'episodio anni 20, all'inizio, ho visto Sebastian Roche nei credits, e così ho passato quei quaranta splendidi minuti a dire "Balthazar, dov'è Balthazar, cos'è tutta questa trama datemi Balthazar!" :D E ora sappiamo che è un vampiro, urca urca tirulero, questa stagione è favolosa!!!
