And here's the second part of my Epic Rhodes Post! The first part is here.

A nice afternoon at the beach. The sea was very blue, very clear, and quite scary. Big waves, much more than I'm used to.

There were cats everywhere, mostly begging for food under restaurant tables. I can't resist a pair of puppy eyes, so this is me giving a most persistent one a chip.

The we went to the Turkish Baths. It's the best thing ever, you sit there in this big room that looks like ancient roman baths, next to a stone sink, and you pour hot water on your body with a metal bowl. And you talk, and think, and just relax. We sat there for an hour, and after that my skin was so soft and I felt so at peace with everyone I wanted to call all my friends on the spot and tell them I loved them. Yes, I don't need alcohol, all it takes is hot water to get me drunk.

And on wednesday, we went to the Butterfly Valley! It was this place 45 minutes by bus from Rhodes, a valley full of red butterflies. You'll see in the next pictures, there were thousands of them. When they are still they are black, but if they take flight the wings are red, and they look like hundreds of fairies from a Disney movie. Amazing.

Black butterfly.

Lots of black butterflies, looking all innocent.

It was almost impossible to capture them on camera, they were moving too fast, but Monica did a pretty good job here.

It was an enchanted place, full of trees.

This is starting to feel like trying to capture actual fairies on film. See the red blurry spots? That's them!

There were persons wearing flipflops and bathing suits strolling around. People go on holidays and lose their minds.

Monica and her wonderful camera. All the best pictures here were taken with that beautiful camera right there.

The view from the top. I couldn't reach it (I was already out of breath here), so I stopped at the cafe just outside the woods.

Bless the guy who invented iced tea.

Meanwhile, Monica was taking pictures like this one.

Time to go to Lindos! We went by boat, three hours down the east coast of the island. The coast looks pretty desertic, just a few hotels here and there, but mostly rocks and bushes. The sea was wonderful, and the sun was very hot.

Lindos! On the left, the Acropolis and the Medieval Fortress, right ahead the town.

We only had three hours before the boat left, so we decided to go to the acropolis by donkey. We were so unlucky to get a man who was in an incredible hurry, no idea why, so he forced the donkeys on a crazy run uphill, and in doing so my donkey went straight up a wall. And I hit hard my right knee, the same one I had bruised a couple of days before. So now it was bruised and all black, and I was planning on killing the donkey man. The two donkeys would have thanked me, poor guys.

Greek walls, not as soft as they look.

So in five freaking minutes we reached the acropolis, and the view was stunning. I kid you not, that place was Archaeologist Heaven.

This place looks more or less like it did when the Greeks were here, but for the beach umbrellas.

Also windy. And five minutes after this photo was taken, I tripped on the Propylaea and twisted my left ankle. At that point I was ready to use the rock salt, because someone must had cursed my feet or something. Anyway, never say two twisted ankles stopped old Nausicaa here, especially on an Acropolis!

That's right, we didn't take the donkeys on the way down because I still had one healthy knee...

...and we walked all the way down to the beach. I'm so badass.

Although we stopped halfway in a cute little bar to take pictures and put the icy cold water bottle on my stupid ankles.

So worth it.

When we got back to Rhodes we had corn. Most delicious thing ever, we ate it sitting near the deer pillar, watching the boats.

We decided to spend the whole of friday at the beach. Very relaxing, and we had to work on our tan. Me, I stopped at the pharmacy on the way over and bought some crazy painkillers that are probably illegal in some countries because, man, they were strong. I also bought one of those medical socks to keep my left ankle stiff, and it felt so good.

Sitting close to the waves, you can see my not-so-sexy sock.

Fish soup at a restaurant that soon became our favourite. My hair is so long, I have to cut it.

Oh, Starbucks. You and your wonderful cappuccino that's three times bigger than an italian cappuccino, and your free wifi.

Time to go back. Me and my new blue bag, stuffed inside my luggage because Ryanair guys are evil and you can only take one piece of luggage with you on the plane.

Bonus picture, The King And I!
So, that's it. I have more or less 200 more pictures, but I'll spare you. In conclusion: wonderful island, great food, not expensive, think about it next time you plan a holiday. It also has 300 sunny days a year. *______*
