[01] -- Look up TEN of your favorite movies on IMDB.
[02] -- Click the "trivia" link in the sidebar.
[03] -- Post a fun and random bit of trivia from each film.
[04] -- Tag five people!

1- The Untouchables - Brian De Palma directly took the idea of the train station scene from the 1925 Russian movie named Bronenosets Potyomkin (1925) ("Battleship Potemkin"). The sailors who get caught in the crossfire in "The Untouchables" are an ode to "Battleship Potemkin." - I love the Battleship Potemkin so much too. *________*

2- Terminator 2 - One of the tag lines for the movie was 'It's nothing personal'. This was a play on many movies from around that time that had the tag line 'This time, it's personal'. - I can so easily picture the T1000 saying it. XD

3- Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead - While on the ship bound for England, Tim Roth remarks, "I think I'll spend the rest of my life on boats." He does just that in the The Legend of 1900 (1998) in which his character spends his entire life on a cruise liner, never once stepping on dry land.

4- Reservoir Dogs - According to an interview on the DVD, Michael Madsen says that Kirk Baltz asked to ride in his trunk to experience what it was really like. Michael Madsen agreed, but decided as he went along that this was time for his own character development. So he apparently drove down a long alley with potholes, and then through a Taco Bell drive through before taking Baltz back to the parking lot and letting him out.

5- Jesus Christ Superstar - Norman Jewison managed only two takes of "My Temple Should Be". Thanks to Ted Neeley's more-thorough-than-expected ransacking of the set, they ran out of unbroken props after only those two takes. - It's a pretty realistic scene, I admit it. :D

6- The Fisher King - While it is not mentioned in the film, Parry's name is short for Parsifal, the "pure fool" and legendary knight of the Holy Grail. Parry brings redemption to Jack Lucas just as Parsifal brings redemption to the Fisher King Amfortas. Also, like Parsifal, Parry does battle with a Red Knight. In still another parallel, Parry experiences a cosmic awakening after kissing Lydia, just as Parsifal experiences a cosmic awakening after kissing the beautiful Kundry. - Terry Gilliam, how much I love thee. ^^

7- Children of Men - In the car chase scene, just before the car is attacked, Miriam can be seen peeling an orange in the back seat. Again, just before the refugee camp falls into chaos, Kee and Marichka share orange slices over the baby. In films oranges often represent impending danger or tragedy. This motif is also prominently featured in The Godfather. - Weird. O_o

8- Dragonheart - More than 200 photos were taken of Sean Connery with a variety of facial expressions, and along with footage of his voice recording, were used to make the dragon bear a stronger resemblance to him.

9- Muppet Treasure Island - David Bowie and Mick Jagger were both seriously considered for the role of Long John Silver before Tim Curry was cast. - Mick Jagger playing Long John Silver? Lol. XD

10- Sin City - The opening credits were made with some of Robert Rodriguez's choices for the characters before any were cast.

No tagging, as usual. :P

On tuesday I had a little accident, a woman on the bus stepped on my right foot (just under the ankle) with her high heels, and my ankle has been purple and throbbing since then. It hurts so much! Stupid woman, she didn't even apologize. I had to stay home, I'm still limping and my ankle is twice its usual size, but at least it's back to its normal color.

And now I feel like watching Sin City again.

OMG DRAGONHEART! I didn't think anyone else remembered that movie! That movie was my life growing up; it started my fangirl crush on Sean Connery.

I think it's wrong to consider anyone but Tim Curry in any role. Why isn't this guy in movies anymore?

I totally agree. He's a great actor and he has an awesome singing voice.

Actually, the last time I heard about anything from him, he was shooting a movie here in Edmonton. They were tying up West Edmonton Mall with camera crews most of this year. Never saw him on any of the sets, though I did catch a glimpse of Chris Kattan on an escalator.

Aside from that, it looks like Tim Curry's been doing a LOT of voice-over work over the years. I'm looking at his IMDB profile, and he's guest-starred in just about every cartoon ever made. But it's always either as a narrator or bad guy.

Scusami, ho letto l'email solo ora.

Fanservice puro!
