Tonight's movie:
Jean Cocteau's La Belle et la Bête, the 1946 classic. I have mixed feelings about this one. It was perfect, but Josette Day as Belle. She is just too... I don't know, sexy, coquette. Everytime she's saying something sweet she makes those strange faces, as to say "Ah-ha, and now I'll get your golden key, steal all your treasures and put your decapitated head on my wall!". So it wasn't easy to follow the movie while insulting Belle... ^^"
Besides that everything works perfectly, the lights, the special effects (the hands were perfectly creepy), the costumes, all the other actors. It was funny to see how Belle still acts as in a silent movie (walking sideways, moving slowly her hands over her head to express fear or doubt), while all the other actors seem a lot more comfortable with a talking movie.
I wanted you to know I love the way you laugh
I wanna hold you high and steal your pain away
I keep your photograph; I know it serves me well
I wanna hold you high and steal your pain
‘Cause I’m broken when I’m lonesome
And I don’t feel right when you’re gone away
You've gone away, you don't feel me anymore
The worst is over now and we can breathe again
I wanna hold you high, you steal my pain away
There’s so much left to learn, and no one left to fight
I wanna hold you high and steal your pain
‘Cause I’m broken when I’m open
And I don’t feel like I am strong enough
‘Cause I’m broken when I’m lonesome
And I don’t feel right when you’re gone away
‘Cause I’m broken when I’m open
And I don’t feel like I am strong enough
‘Cause I’m broken when I’m lonesome
And I don’t feel right when you’re gone away
‘Cause I’m broken when I’m lonesome
And I don’t feel right when you’re gone
You've gone away, you don't feel me anymore
I kept listening to this song while reading the latest Holic chapter: not smart... ;_;
