Jun. 12th, 2006 05:42 pmSo in the end today I didn't go to university because I didn't hear the alarm clock. It was months since the last time I did it, but lately it seems I can't focus on anything (I feel like my head is so full it's going to explode)...
Then I decided to watch Kagen no Tsuki, the 2004 live-action movie from that beautiful manga by Ai Yazawa. I usually don't like these kind of movies, as they're often a bunch of people in cosplay trying not to look at the camera (see the Nana movie), but this one was really good. I was a bit surprised when I read about the cast, as Chiaki Kuriyama for me is just Gogo from Kill Bill. Instead, she was perfect, and Hyde as Adam completely blew me away. And thankfully they cut a few things from the story (after all, this is a movie), so the kids are just two, Tomoki gets a bigger part, and, surprisingly, we can clearly see Adam is a ghost since the very beginning. I loved all the special effects, and most of all the scene of the accident, with the falling leaves and the "matrix effect" (when the scene stops and the camera turns all around a character). It was also interesting how they made the Gate of Death setting: it looked more like the entrance to Hell than to Heaven (as in the manga).

And now I'm listening to all my Arc-en-Ciel mp3s again! XD
