It's time to properly start the Reading Bingo 2014! It's sort of like cheating because I started reading this book last month, but I didn't like it at all and it was only thanks to this challenge that I actually decided to finish it.

It could fit other squares, but it gets the "A Book by a Female Author" one because it's written by not one but two women, P.C. Cast and Kristin Cast. It's Revealed, the 11th book in the House of Night Series. It's a series I started reading years ago after two friends of mine gave me the first book. It was funny and quirky, sort of like a soap opera with vampires, but I loved the skillful use of Native American mythology, and how it reinvented the genre in a silly, fresh way. It was definitely more like crisps and not at all like a proper meal, but I enjoyed it a lot. Sadly, the story dragged way after it should have rightfully ended, with Burned being the last interesting book in the series (all thanks to Stevie Rae and Rephaim's beautiful arc). Now it's really painful to see how boring the story has become, how repetitive and dumb. Such a shame. And sadly Revealed confirms this trend by being the most useless one in the series, 300 pages of nothing really happening, and it made me deeply regret buying it in paper when I could have just downloaded the ebook from somewhere. Such a pity.

The good news is that apparently the series will end with the next one (it was supposed to be fifteen books), so this book gets a place in the Reading Bingo in honour of a series that once had a lovely and innovative spark. A minute of silence for all the might-have-beens.

One down, twenty-four to go! \o/

In other news, I haven't seen the sun in two weeks and I miss it a lot, and I've done my first baking of the year. I tweaked the recipe a bit and the cookies tasted even better than before, I'm really proud of myself. *______*

And the best part is that this way we'll give each other ideas for new books, it's going to be great! *__________*

I know! Finding books to fit all the categories might be tough, so I think other people's recs could help a lot.

And some are really tricky, like, how can it be forgotten, if it's a classic? Isn't that a oxymoron? I think in that case I'm going for a classic I didn't know existed until recently. Makes sense.

Yes, me and someone else were discussing that yesterday, if it's a classic everyone probably knows it, but if it's been forgotten how will I know it's a classic?

Also the 'published this year' might have to wait a while.
