It looks like they're already working on a fourth Pirates movie. Why, oh why did I see that coming? :D
Today's movie was Twelve Monkeys: yep, I must admit I had never seen it before. Shame on me, as I dig those dystopian, post-apocalyptic visions of the future. I'm really glad I watched it, because now it's no doubt my favourite movie by Terry Gilliam (with The Fisher King as a runner-up). After the first hour I already knew the meaning of Cole's dream, but it was a great ending nonetheless. I really liked Bruce Willis in such an unusual role, and Madeleine Stowe was great as well. Not to mention Brad Pitt, he scared the hell out of me... all in all it reminded me a lot of The Terminator, but this time it was so grim and helpless... anyway, if there's someone else who hasn't seen it (anyone?) I highly reccomend it. Now I really want the dvd. ;)
And as lately I'm obsessed with the Little Miss Sunshine soundtrack, here's a song for you:
They’re just words, they ain’t worth nothing
Cloud your head and push your buttons
And watch how they just disappear
When we’re far away from here
And everybody knows where this is heading
Forgive me for forgetting
Our hearts irrevocably combined
Star-crossed souls slow dancing
Retreating and advancing
Across the sky until the end of time
Oh who put all those cares inside your head
You can’t live your life on your deathbed
And it’s been such a lovely day
Let’s not let it end this way
And everybody knows where this is heading
Forgive me for forgetting
Our hearts irrevocably combined
Star-crossed souls slow dancing
Retreating and advancing
Across the sky until the end of time
Like sisters and brothers we lean on each other
Like sweethearts carved on a headstone
Oh why even bother, it’ll be here tomorrow
It’s not worth it sleeping alone
And look at you and me still here together
There is no one knows you better
And we’ve come such a long long way
Let’s put it off for one more day
And everybody knows where this is heading
Forgive me for forgetting
Our hearts irrevocably combined
Star-crossed souls slow dancing
Retreating and advancing
Across the sky until the end of time
About me, tomorrow I'll have my second (and let's hope last) eye laser surgery. I'm a bit nervous, but I'm also relieved it will finally be over. So, no movies and no reading again, and I'll probably go through all my cd collection again. And no music videos... sigh. Luckly Tati will come to stay with me until I feel better, so I won't feel alone! \o/
