Tonight's movie: Fritz Lang's M. I love his Metropolis, but now I think this one is his masterpiece. Peter Lorre is amazing, and even if I had already seen some scenes (the last monologue, for example), I still got goosebumps as if I didn't know anything. It was scary like hell. The shadows, the kids playing in the yard, and M whistling the §@%& Peer Gynt... hope I won't dream of it tonight. Especially the whistling. I'll never be able to listen to Peer Gynt again. O_o

Great editing: the two meetings (the cops and the criminals) is a "perfect" scene, moving flawlessly from one table to another. And great use of black and white cinematography. The lights and the shadows, it really sets the mood and keeps you on the edge of your seat. Especially the §#@% whistling. And the fading. And did I mention the whistling?

So, another great movie that I'll never see again. Unless of course I want to have nightmares about the Peer Gynt. O_o
