I just saw Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children. First, I have to say that I never played Final Fantasy, and have no idea of what the story is. But I thought the movie would have given a little intro, and I was really looking forward to see it, as it looked amazing. And yet, I was deeply disappointed. I was totally clueless all through the movie, I didn't know who everyone was, what was happening, what this Sephirot had done in the game, if he was dead, what Jenova was and so on. 100' of movie, and 80' were spent in long duels or chases. Who on earth is Rufus?! And what about that abrupt ending?! After a good half-an-hour, I was already bored to death. And still, it could have been a great movie, the special effects, the colours, every detail was amazing (the characters were a bit expressionless, but after all they're CGI, and this ain't Lord of the Rings), if only they had thought there are other persons out there besides FF VII fans.
