Another movie review! This thanks to the crazy amount of nutella I've been eating today. I'm just very cheerful, my aunt is coming tomorrow, on tuesday we'll go to the cinema to watch War Horse together, and I even have something special planned for next month. All in all, I have had lots of reasons to be happy lately. Hence, the nutella and the movies. :D
Today's movie is The Adventures Of Tintin! I still remember seeing the poster months ago and spending a couple of hours squealing over the cast and the writers and the director. A dream come true. I was expecting something very different, but luckly I got what was going on ten minutes into the movie, I relaxed and enjoyed the ride.
Yes, because this movie should be called "Hey all you kids who grew up watching the Indiana Jones movies and the Pirates of the Caribbeans, this is for you and ONLY for you". It's all a huge, loving homage to those adventure movies from the 80s, and all those wonderful pirate tales. The story is all about putting the characters in situations that will make an Indiana Jones fan squee in delight, and then it'll do its best to make you feel like you were six again and hiding in a blanket fort reading about Captain Blackbeard. So there are plot holes, there isn't a real ending, and we're all left waiting for the sequel. And I loved every minute of it.
For two hours it made me feel like a little girl again, and that's great. I loved all the characters, all the chase scenes, Pegg and Frost, and the villain! And even if until now I hated that kind of animation, I must say it finally works here. I'll get the bluray, and wait patiently for the sequel.
On a sidenote, the dog should ask Tintin for a salary. He does all the work, and he doesn't even get paid!
