"Brave soldier boy comes marching home."
Sep. 29th, 2013 06:26 pmI have a bit of a stomachache. It's probably because of the sudden cold weather, nothing serious. I made myself a cup of tea, wrapped myself in a blanket, and sat down to watch a couple of old Avatar The Last Airbender episodes while waiting for my stomach to feel better. I went for The King of Omashu, then The Blind Bandit, and then couldn't help it and watched a few more, ending with The Tales of Ba Sing Se just now. And while I was crying at Iroh's tale all over again, I realized that I should just stop trying to force myself into liking The Legend Of Korra. I love ATLA, it means so much to me, that I tried so hard to like this new series. But now the second season has started, and I find it equal parts boring and infuriating. The only parts I find myself truly interested in are the ones about the old gang.
This is stupid. The Star Wars prequels almost ruined the whole Star Wars experience for me, I'm not doing this again. I'm happy for those who like Korra, I truly am, but this is my stop. The old series makes me laugh, and cry, and tremble in my seat even after watching it tens of times. I know it by heart and I still sob when Iroh sings at his son's grave. Watching even one more episode of a series I've come to dislike would only ruin how much I love Aang's story.
