Jul. 12th, 2006 06:14 pmLol, look at my university's website's new layout (archeology section) ---> ...funny header! ^^
This morning I went back to Venice, as I had to buy new contact lenses. Then my cousin and I went to St. Marco's square, so that she can took some pics with her cellphone. What can I say? I was disgusted and nauseated. They threw my beloved city in the rubbish. So full of tourists you couldn't even breathe, it looked like Disneyland. And garbage everywhere. And the shops? They all disappeared! Now it's just full of restaurants, masks shops, and souvenirs shops. Ugh. No wonder all Venetians are slowly leaving the city, just like me, it's impossible to live there anymore. =_=
We came back all sweaty and tired, and we spent a couple of hours browsing through my mp3 collection so that she could take the songs she liked for her mp3 player. It was truly a nightmare. "Nirvana? They suck. Iggy Pop, Velvet Underground, Bruce Springsteen, Muse, Neil Young, Coldplay, Nick Cave, all horrible!" While I was trying to recover myself drinking a massive amount of iced water (read = ice cubes), she started playing her music: cheesy pop songs that made my ears cry out for help. And then, she played My heart will go on, and I tried to commit harakiri on my bed. Really, it's just like talking two different languages. The funniest thing is that it's happening exactly the same thing this week on my favourite web comic, Ozy and Millie! XD It feels just like being in the Hotel California, surrounded by people you don't understand and who don't understand you as well!
Now I'm trying to save my brain by listening to massive amounts of Coldplay, Nick Cave, Green Day, and the Reservoir Dogs soundtrack...
EDIT: I forgot! Yesterday we started watching Invasion. It was so weird, as it was almost a year since I last watched something on tv besides the World Championship finals, and the commercials looked so...strange. I'm not used to them anymore. The show itself is interesting, although having grown up on X-Files, it doesn't look that original to me. I wonder if it'll change in time... today we'll see the second episode, and from the looks of it we'll have a hard time having a shower before going to bed! Don't touch the waaaaateeeeer.... XD
