The Lemon is in Play.

Today was Travelling Lemon day. Tati and I dressed up as tourists and explored downtown Venice, hiding our faithful lemon in plain sight, and taking all kinds of wonderful pictures. We bought a Captain's hat, and had too much fun. :D

Our lemon's journey starts in Piazzale Roma. The view from the newest bridge in Venezia.

The Church of St. Lucia. That's where they keep the body of St. Lucia after the Venetians stole it from Syracuse. Since she's the Saint who protects eyes and eyesight my mom would take me every year here to pray. You can see the body in a glass case, and it's mummified, and quite frankly, quite disgusting. Obviously, as a kid, I thought it was the coolest thing ever. :D

We got so lucky, it was a glorious warm day, as if it were June already.

The gondola pier at St. Sofia.

Piazza San Marco! It was almost noon, and the lighting was perfect. \o/

Sadly you can't hear the wonderful concert they were having at the Cafe Florian: it's one of the oldest and the most famous cafe in Venice, and they always have this little jazz orchestra, with the piano and everything, playing oldies and goldies. I've never been inside, because a freaking cappuccino costs 9 euros - what the hell?! - but I love the orchestra. *______*

Now, where would the lemon be? I'd like to add, I'm a professional, indeed I am. (Yes, this is the only reason why we bought the Captain's hat at a little stand in the middle of the square :D )

We were so lucky to be there at noon, so we could hear the Campanile's bells strike the hour, and the statues at the Clock Tower (see picture above) moved to strike their own bell.

Alas, poor Yorick!

Have you seen a little lemòn? Difficulty: 3 out of 10. :D

This is the church of St. Moisè, where I was baptized.

The gondola pier right in front of the church.

We took a little detour coming back to stop at Rialto. Obviously. :D

The view from the bridge. So many taxis in the water, way more than gondolas. I guess they lowered the fares.

Obligatory picture with the masks. :D

The view from the other side of the bridge, looking towards the Ca' D'Oro.

The other side of the bridge.
Now, it's your turn! I need to choose the pictures to send to John Finnemore - I'd say three, four tops - so I need your help in choosing the best ones. *bats eyelashes* These are already my favourite ones, so it's going to be hard to choose. ^^"
