shopping, hobbits and boars

What a day, yesterday! My aunt, my cousin and I went to the mall for some last minute shopping. The crowd was scary, and we spent a lot of time in line, but we managed to get everything. Then we met with my cousin's boyfriend and went out for pizza. By nine pm we were at the local cinema to watch the Hobbit. The room was packed, so we had to sit apart, but I got to sit next to my aunt, yay for me. ;)

My aunt loved the movie, and she had some great comments during it. She thought Thranduill was "pretty like a princess", she called Kili "the beautiful dwarf" and when Bilbo was looking for the Arkenstone she whispered to me "maybe HE is the Arkenstone, the most precious thing for Thorin". I almost burst out "best fic prompt ever" before the stone was visible on screen, and she muttered "nevermind", clearly disappointed.

We came back by two am, and when I woke up this morning my uncle was cutting in pieces the wild boars he had hunted yesterday. On the kitchen table. Next to my tea. I told him it was like having breakfast with Hannibal, but he didn't get it. :D

Heh, your aunt has some excellent suggestions. The Hobbit would've been a much better story if the Arkenstone had been directly connected to the heart of whoever was in control of the mountain at any given time. For awhile, that was definitely Bilbo — as much as Smaug liked to think he was in control.

(sorry for the super late reply)

It would definitely make for a great fanfic prompt. I'm torn between "wish I could write stories" and "wish someone would write it because I would LOVE reading it". *______*

Your aunt is priceless and now there are pictures in my head... Bilbo IS the stone, and Smaug and Thorin had to fight for him (and his love, because that´s the only way the stone could be activated and and ... now I should shut up).
