"You took my hand and held it up and shot my arm full of love."

Come one, come all, it's time for our annual Lucca Comics and Games entry! This year with a gazillion of pictures, so it'll be divided in two entries! I know, shocking. :D And it was my very first time cosplaying, I went for female-Eleven from Doctor Who, thinking no one would recognize me. As it turns out, I was so very, very wrong. Not only did I meet many other Doctors, but many, many persons recognized me, took so many pictures, and it was amazing! \o/

The Lucca Comics and Games for years has been set in the actual city of Lucca. The city is stunning, it's still as it were in the Middle Ages, with the walls around it all intact. It reminds me of Venice during the Carnival, with all the cosplayers. :D

So, after the cut, get ready for Doctors, Heirs to the Iron Throne, Prophets and Avengers!

And off we go! Obligatory first picture, on the train!

Our hotel was at the amphitheater, in a medieval building, with these cute little rooms all painted in red. The food was amazing, as the owners also had a restaurant just outside. Let's play a little game here, guess who's side of the bed was mine. Tati is a saint the way she puts up with me. ^^"

Tati was dressed a female-Castiel from Supernatural, and that's her wig. I love how surreal this picture is. :D

The first day was hot and sunny, we were so lucky. \o/

We met many Khaleesis, but this one was the best one!

They had a Game of Thrones stand on the city walls, and Renli here was handing out pamphlets.

With the launch of Assassin's Creed III last week, they went crazy. They had specific stands, a contest only for assassins, and as you'll see later, on saturday they did a enormous, fantastic reenactment of the Battle of Bunker Hill outside the Walls.

The first Doctors we met! Four even had the Tardis key as a necklace! They were so nice, we talked about London, Daleks, the Master, and they even gave us some jelly babies bought in England, way tastier than what we can find here. Also pictured, the fierce glare of the sun, the Mediterranean sun, shining on our awesomeness. :D

This year we met many Disney cosplayers, both heroines and villains. This Merida was so beautiful. *____*

Professor Layton! By the way, the new game, The Miracle Mask, is great. I'm almost at the ending, and I love it. ♥

This is when I met [livejournal.com profile] harriet_yuuko, cosplaying as Idris from The Doctor's Wife! Out of the five friends I had planned to meet at Lucca, she and [livejournal.com profile] juuhachi_go were the only ones I managed to meet in the end.

While we were sitting there talking, a Ten walked by and stopped for a picture. The sign says "Allonsy, Alonso!", which I found hilarious!

Finally, a picture with Tati, who was absolutely adorable as Castielle. Sadly, only three persons recognized her, which was a shame. And the wings survived even that crowd (158.000 visitors by the second day, no idea how many by the end).

Corto Maltese! When I was a kid Hugo Pratt and Charles M. Shulz were my gods. \o/

We met many Adventure Time groups, which I didn't expect at all. *______*

Dinner on the first day, two typical tuscanian soups. Mine is a "zuppa al farro e fagioli", Tati's is the famous "pappa col pomodoro". There's a song, I sang it all evening. Don't ask.

On the second day, clouds appeared, but the weather was still hot. We were still cosplaying, but we changed shoes because the pretty little heels had almost killed us the day before. While walking downtown, we followed this heavenly sound and found an harpist playing for the crowd.

Genderbent Avengers, they were adorable! They were striking a pose for Tati, and just before taking the picture she asked them to "say 'Capsicle'". This is the result. :D

When he walked by I thought he was a generic Robin Hood, then I looked closer and screamed "Oh god, are you a man in tights?!" and he replied "The one and only!" and we took this picture. :D

The Iron Throne, with a Robb Stark who looked way too much like the real one, it was scary.

Toph and the Blue Spirit! We were just complaining five minutes earlier that we hadn't seen any Avatar cosplayers. *______*

Merida's mom.

Literally two hours later, we found a Korra!

There were many, many assassins, but I chose this picture because they also had the girls and Altair.

Yes, it's a Wanted picture from Once Upon A Time, on a random tree by the side of the road on the medieval walls. Wow.

Just look at them! \o/ So cute, and the dog was so calm and peaceful.

Italian fans, if you don't recognize them straight away we can't be friends. Also, you're probably underage, so what are you doing here?!

The second part, with more amazing cosplayers and pictures of the Battle of Bunker Hill is here.

Yo, arrivo qui tramite lj di space oddity! :)
Detto tra noi.. quanto figo era Rob Stark? XD

E perché io non ho visto Harlock e Esmeralda?? Lui è stato il mio primo vero fidanzato virtuale! °_°;
In ogni caso.. foto splendide, bravissima! :)

Ma ciao di nuovo! Posso chiederti l'amicizia a questo punto? *______*

La maggior parte dei cosplayer li ho incrociati passeggiando sulle mura, dove probabilmente andavano per non essere schiacciati dalla folla e farsi le foto in pace. Con quello sfondo splendido con gli alberi autunnali, poi, era il paradiso!

[identity profile] florealpolla.livejournal.com 2012-11-05 06:05 pm (UTC)(link)
Sìììì, ti aggiungo pure io! ^_^

[identity profile] stardust-made.livejournal.com 2012-11-05 05:11 pm (UTC)(link)
These are soooo brilliant! I love the multiple Doctors picture, it's just wonderful. (And how great is your room?!) *off to read the next entry*

Our room was amazing, all in that deep, beautiful shade of red, we fell in love with it instantly. The bed was little, and I was afraid I was going to elbow Tati in the face or something, but luckly I slept like a log, what with all that walking around. :D

(And I didn't have even one single panic attack with all those people taking pictures of me, it was incredible! \o/ )

"(And I didn't have even one single panic attack with all those people taking pictures of me, it was incredible! \o/ )"
Yay! That is really, really great.:)

[identity profile] nausicaa83.livejournal.com 2012-11-05 05:21 pm (UTC)(link)
Completely unexpected too! I felt ditzy a couple of times when stuck in the crowd for too long, but I just stared at my feet for a few minutes working on my breathing, and it worked! Hurrah!

[identity profile] panapp.livejournal.com 2012-11-08 12:25 pm (UTC)(link)

I came looking for this post especially for Tati's Castiel cosplay, because obviously I wasn't able to appreciate it at the time of your post. HOW is it possible that only three people recognized her? She's an awesome Castielle.:)

(I've also been checking out your SPN entires. Fun!:) Isn't it odd, though, when you have a chance to compare your instant reactions to something, when you're in the peak of things and how you see things after a while, with perspective? I get that about some Sherlock stuff.)

[identity profile] nausicaa83.livejournal.com 2013-01-01 07:51 pm (UTC)(link)
She's such an adorable Castielle! There's a photoset right here (http://nausicaa83.livejournal.com/516350.html). I'm quite proud of it, I took the pics, played director, and chose all the props, it was great fun! *_____*

I KNOW. An even more fitting example would be the entry I wrote five minutes after first watching Scandal In Bohemia. It is quite an enthusiastic entry, full of praise. I remember the days after, the more I thought about it the more flaws I found with that episode to the point that now it's my least favourite Sherlock episode.

It's better to never re-read too old entries, for my own peace of mind. :D

I'm flattered ♥ Thank you so much for the compliment!
