By the way, I just read your mp, because lj notifications never work when they should. I don't know of any specific motel, but I can tell you, look for hotels in Mestre, not in Venezia. It's the part of the city with cars, on solid ground, and even if it's technically still Venice (same mayor and all) hotels cost less, and it's only a 30-minute-long ride by bus to get to the city. ^^
