Sadly the characters are completely bland. I was worried they would be annoying, judging from the trailer, but they're not. They just have no personality.

You know what they really did perfectly with this movie? I know it sounds like I'm taking the piss, but I was genuinely impressed: it works from a burocratic, technological point of view. The way the attractions work, the museum, the money problems, the reunions with the corporations to ask for funding. Okay, in a movie about dinosaurs it might sound like a waste of time, but it really made it realistic. That's something like thirty minutes of no dinosaurs, people talking about the difficulties of running a theme park, shots of guests in the museum, discussions in the labs about the genetic material they're stitching together, and it works in making it believable. Kudos for that! It certainly worked way better with establishing this universe than Chris Pratt being a... ex-navy raptor-imprinting zookeeper? We never got a single line about who this guy is, his credentials, why they made him work with the raptors of all people, so uhm. At least Dr Grant dug up their bones. Two minutes on screen, we know why they got this guy and the paleobotanist to visit the park.

To be fair Jeff Goldblum had no reason to be there (what was he? a chaos theory philosopher? I think?), but he looked super hot and had the best lines, so we'll give him a pass. :D
