nausicaa83: (<dragon age> mage)
Looks like I just can't let go of that game. I started Dragon Age all over again, this time as a human female mage. I wanted to make different decisions along the way, and see if I can reach a different ending. I also think playing as a mage will be a lot harder for me, the pure warrior kind of gamer. You know, hit them until they stop moving, then stomp them, then pierce them with arrows, then ask questions.

Right now I'm just after the joining in Ostagar, so I've had a few battles, but I keep rushing in, forgetting that I have to stay behind to cast spells, and let the warriors handle the first line. I spent some time choosing a good name for my character, and in the end I went for Teleute. I think I'll roleplay her as a sort of evil character, similar to Morrigan, to see what happens.

Also, a meme, so that these entries don't sound excruciatingly boring to those in my f-list who don't know what Dragon Age is.

It's This Is War by 30 Seconds To Mars. The video is a short version, but it's a stunning trailer. If you want the full version, I uploaded it here.

A warning to the people
The good and the evil
This is war
To the soldier, the civillian
The martyr, the victim
This is war

It's the moment of truth and the moment to lie
The moment to live and the moment to die
The moment to fight, the moment to fight, to fight, to fight, to fight

To the right, to the left
We will fight to the death
To the Edge of the Earth
It's a brave new world from the last to the first

To the right, to the left
We will fight to the death
To the Edge of the Earth
It's a brave new world, It's a brave new world

A warning to the prophet
To the liar, to the honest
This is war
To the leader, to the prior, the victim, the Messiah
This Is War

It's the moment of truth and the moment to lie
The moment to live and the moment to die
The moment to fight, the moment to fight, to fight, to fight, to fight

To the right, to the left
We will fight to the death
To the Edge of the Earth
It's a brave new world from the last to the first

To the right, to the left
We will fight to the death
To the Edge of the Earth
It's a brave new world, It's a brave new world, It's a brave new world

I do believe in the light
Raise your hands into the sky
The fight is done
The war is won
Lift your hands toward the sun
Toward the sun, toward the sun, toward the sun
The war is won

To the right, to the left
We will fight to the death
To the Edge of the Earth
It's a brave new world from the last to the first

To the right, to the left
We will fight to the death
To the Edge of the Earth
It's a brave new world, It's a brave new world, It's a brave new world

A brave new world, the war is won, the war is won, a brave new world

I believe in nothing not the end and not the start
I believe in nothing not the earth and not the stars
I believe in nothing not the day or not the dark
I believe in nothing but the beating of our hearts
I believe in nothing not 100 suns until we part
I believe in nothing not in sin and not in God
I believe in nothing not in peace and not in war
I believe in nothing but the truth in who we are

I'm growing really obsessed with this song. ^^

nausicaa83: (<kingdom hearts> red sunset)
I keep listening to this song, and it's still splendid like the first time. This woman is such a great singer, she leaves me speechless.

All my little plans and schemes
Lost like some forgotten dreams
Seems that all I really was doing
Was waiting for you

Just like little girls and boys
Playing with their little toys
Seems like all they really were doing
Was waiting for love

Don't need to be alone
No need to be alone
It's real love
Yes, it's real love
Oh, it's real love
Yes, it's real love

From this moment on I know
Exactly where my life will go
Seems that all I really was doing
Was waiting for love.

Don't need to be afraid
No need to be afraid
It's real love
Yes, it's real love
Oh, it's real love
Yes, it's real love

Thought i'd been in love before
But in my heart I wanted more
Seems like all I really was doing
Was waiting for you

Don't need to be alone
No need to be alone
It's real love
Yes, it's real love
Oh, it's real love
Yes, it's real love

Oh, it's real love
Yes, it's real love
Oh, it's real love

Back from the New Year's party, I now know my favourite cocktail ever is the Mojito, the way Tati makes it. Soooo yummie!

And now, on with the meme!

Hopes: being in good health, like last year. No hospitals, no surgeries, no nothing. This 2009 was a great year health-wise, and I'd love this 2010 to be the same.
Dreams: another beautiful journey to a foreign country. My uncle wants to take us all on a journey to Egypt next april, and I'm crossing my fingers here, that's a lifelong dream I have!
Plans: don't really know for sure, I like the way I am now, the life I lead, so I plan on staying the course. Winning game. ;)

Here, have a video to start the new year. ^^

Easy choice, there's one song that makes me cry every single time.

~ Tori Amos - Playboy Mommy ~

And a very recent one, mostly thanks to the video that made me discover it yesterday:

Bonus picture, my new nails, just in time for my first xmas concert tomorrow:

Speaking of which, have to go and practice a little. Keep forgetting a couple of lines.

Not feeling very original, so here's the most recent song on my IPod as of 3:21 pm today.

Christmas is getting closer, and I haven't started on my xmas shopping yet. Tomorrow I definitely need to get at least my cousins' gifts! I'm so looking forward to see them soon. *_*

Stolen from [livejournal.com profile] ragweedtd, because I need a crazy meme to end the year with, I'm tired and can't concentrate at all (7 hours by train, duh), and because I'm depressed because the new Scrubs season kinda sucks. So there.

How can I pick just one song? That's crazy! Tell you what, I'll choose my seven favourite songs, from my childhood up to now. There, that makes a little more sense.

1- Eric Clapton - Layla (Unplugged) - This is the song I would play at my funeral/take with me on a deserted island/drive my friends crazy with. I used to listen to the original version when I was still in my mom's uterus, and then he went and did this version. I never get bored of this song. Never.
2- Bruce Springsteen - Thunder Road - Can't live without the Boss. This song here is yours truly when she was a teen, and translating Springsteen's songs on an old black notebook. Sometimes I think I'm an alto because I spent all those puberty years singing these songs and trying to reach the lowest notes. Still sends shivers down my spine just like the first time.
3- Dire Straits - Romeo & Juliet - And this is me at 22, when I used to suffer from insomnia. The only thing who could make me relax enough to fall asleep was Mark Knopfler's voice. It's just so soothing for the heart. ^^
4- The Killers - All These Things That I've Done - This is when I fell madly in love with the Killers. It pretty much sums up my attitude towards life, plus the music is wonderful, and I love singing this one with my friends.
5- Francesco De Gregori - Generale _ One of the best Italian songs, one of the best anti-war songs, and one of the best songs ever. When I was 13 I used to sing this song to the kids at the hospital where my sister was, and I got to sing it with my friends in Beppu, Japan, last spring while watching the ocean.
6- Fabrizio De Andrè - Andrea - Can't live without his music. He was my parents' favourite songwriter, and then he became my aunt and my personal favourite singer, the one we always have on the stereo when we're together. It's something only the two of us share in my new family, so his music is even more precious to me than it was before. Talking about this song, it took me 21 years to understand he was talking about two guys in love. Man, I'm so slow.
7- Metallica - The Unforgiven II - This is yours truly fighting her illness back in 2005. I discovered Metallica and heavy metal music (and every other name you'd like to give to this genre) in university, and it was like discovering a new universe, fresh and ready to explore.

No japanese songs? I know, I suck.

Hope I'll be able to keep this daily. Now back to eating chocolate to cheer me up. It was too short a holiday, I miss Juu-chan and her family. ;_;

Question: what in the world happened to my favourite shows? They're all getting so much depressing! The latest Merlin episode was really beautiful, but so heart-breaking. Maybe the writers hate the fact that Christmas is approaching and want us to feel miserable too. O_O

On other news, Elisa just released her new album, and I've grown obsessed with this song:

Not only it's a splendid, moving song, but it's also a duet with Antony of Antony and The Johnsons. It doesn't get better than this. *_*
